Default HID Flicker

I just installed some DDM tuning HID H7 bulbs in my Depo projectors. I also got a kit for the WRX. The ones in the WRX are H1 bulbs. When you first turn the lights on in the WRX the turn off then back on alternating sides. The WRX has Daytime running lights Could this be the cause of the flashing, maybe it uses lower voltage for DRL. I know this isn't a WRX forum but I have read a lot of good info on this forum in the lighting section. Any ideas would be great.

I don't have specific experience with the WRX but most cars with DRL's have this issue. The problem is the DRL's don't operate at full power (12v) they are usually like 7-9v so the ballast isn't getting the full power it needs to start up.

I was afraid that was the problem I guess I will wire up a relay to make sure that any time the headlight circuit is hot that it will get batt. voltage. Thanks for the info.

Bingo! Relay harness's aren't really that much of a hassle & you can get them for $25-$30 all day so i don't understand why more people don't use them?
