Ok, been lookin all over the place and I'm not technically inclined so I hope a smarter person than me has the patience for a newbie question. My previous car was a '00 Honda S2000 and it had stock HID headlights (they had a bright, almost blue light that took about half a second to warm up and turn on). I liked the way they lit up the road and would like to convert my 03 SRT. In addition, both of my headlights have a few cracks in the plastic, so I was looking to buy a whole new assembly as well and do it all at once.
My question is, I've seen lots of assemblies through online stores and ebay, but none of them seem clear as to what the end result will be. For example, I've seen conversion kits from 60-90 bucks which seem clear enough (just the blub and some metal converter box which I assume hook into your stock assembly), but the more expensive kits that include the entire headlight assembly are not clear as to whether they are HID's or not. Some say HID-ready, some say HID...yada yada. I wanted to know if anyone had experience with a conversion here before I spend a bunch of money and get the wrong damn thing. I'm totally stock right now, and want new headlights (the whole assembly) that run HID.
Basically looking for ideas...product endorsements...whatever.
I would do what I getting ready to do and what many here will tell you, retro. Use the stock housing and retro your desired projector in it. If you use your s2000 projectors you will loose your highbeam function, however with those you kinda don't need it. Good luck.
I'll be posting an HID Kit GB here in a week or so which will include everything you need to properly convert over to HID's.
If you're wanting lighting performance on par with the S2000's then nothing short of a full retro will satisfy you. The S2K projectors are regarded as the king of single xenon projector & the cost reflects that as well. A mint set will run $325-$350 alone. You'd still need many more parts & labor on top of that as well so expect to pay accordingly. There are some other options which are more reasonably price that still offer great results as well.
Can the S2K's be swapped/ retro'd. You bet... PM me if you're wanting more specifics

Not to hi-jack but John what's the skinny with this GB . I'm looking at VVME right now but I'll hold off if it would be cheaper :p....plus will you have fog HIDs as well?
Wow...thanks for all the replies. Basically, the stock headlight assembly looks fine but I wouldn't mind a new stylish look since I have to replace the stock ones anyway. I kinda like the ones that have that ring around the lamp itself that lights up with the parking lights (I know it's cheezy to some, but I like em). I'm not looking to retro-fit S2K headlamps in my SRT. Just convert the SRT to that same type of lighting system. Make sense?

Like I mentioned in out PM's yesterday... sounds like a balance between price, performance, & style is what you're looking for. The Led halo Upgrade & HID's in the projectors would be fairly cheap. If you want to splurge a bit & go with some MDX or Rx330's retro's then you have a sweet little set up that's definately better then stock headlamps w/ HID's in them.

Give me a few more days to get everything in order. Maybe Friday or Saturday I'll have the GB ready to go. Here's a sneak peek
