I saw some mounted up by where the fenders meet the body. THere's like a gap between the fenders and the rest of the car. A friend stuffed his in that spot on both sides.

the intake or the ballast?

the ballast should be water tight i think. i never had a problem.

i have the ipp intake and i got stuck on a flooded street before.. water was almost as high as my knees, and it was so high it was actually spraying into the air out of the manhole covers in the middle of the street... i went through it slowly and i basically forded the river to the nearest non-flooded street. never had a problem.. scared the crap outta me though.

i mounted both of mine in the headlight "duct" right behind the headlight there is an opeing.. you can just fit them in there.. only problem is you have to wire them before you mount them and you cant take the headlight out or put it in with the ballast there.. once the headlight is in and the ballast is mounted the only way to do anything is to remove the ballast and pop the headlight out.. i might pop mine off and just put some industrial velcro on them so its not such a pain. i just hope i can get teh sticky tape off lol
