yes, make sure you have the right year neon tail lights~
or they are defective! dont do it! youll get water damage!
I have a small gap to, with LED tails.. I think its normal, water doesn't really get in there. Had them for a couple months, no water damage. I'm talking about like an 1/8 of an inch gap max.
Hey i got my taillights not too long ago and at first i thought they werent gonna fit, theres also a small gap, but i put them all the way to the top as far as it can go so there is a gap at the bottom rather then at the top, so far no water damage doesnt leak or anything, i had them over two months now
The gap is normal. Just center them the best you can before bolting them in.
The Gap is normal?? LOL not trying to flame but how can you make a comment like that? No its not normal. I just installed my rear tail lights today and Im not impressed at all. There is a gap now up at the top about 1/8 versus NO GAP and sealed with the stock tail lamps. There is a reason whey the stock tails have that rubber seal, to keep water out. So now I have these nice looking tails but I can see inside the rear bumper from the top of the lights... water will get in there and over a long period of time you'll be asking for it in regards to rust. Im heading out tonight to Home Depot or something and see if I can find some neoprene adhesive straps that I can use to seal it up proper.
Dunno dude.... the tails that I bought look nice and in terms of quality they seem pretty good. But the gap is there.... either way though it doesnt seem to be a difficult fix.
The housing seals to the trunk compartment with a foam gasket on the backside of each taillamp.
If your housing is lined up properly ( pretty hard to not line up properly, because of the locating pins) and tightened down, no water will leak into the trunk even if you have a gap visable at the edge where it meets the quarter panel or bumper facia.
I will take a pic of the gaps and it should clear up what I mean... Im not talking about leaking into the trunk or the tail lights themselves... let me break out the cam.
