Default Help Asap!!!!

Well this isnt really a mod. but i figured this is the lighting forum, so this is the best place to post this.

Tonight, i pulled into my g/f's house at about 8:10pm. I had my brights on, and i turned my lights and fogs off before flipping my brights off...ive done this before. So i went to turn my lights and fogs back on, but i had nothing. No lo beams or fogs, but the hi beams worked fine. Does anyone have any ideas what would have happened? I checked all the fuses i could find that may have dealt with it, but they all looked good. I put silverstars in like maybe a month ago...so i hope those didnt go out.

Needless to say i had to drive 30mins home down highways the whole way with my brights on, and have just about the same drive in the morning to work. So any info would be great. Thanks.

Take the cover off...and unclip the harness on the left side and check for any burn marks.

Well tore it all apart tonight and it looks like someone has already replaced it or something. The big plug is alittle cracked, and the lock for the plug is gone. So it may have happened before, but we messed around with it for a while and well i gotta get a new Multifunction switch. This fricken blows...because the stealership probably wont have any so itll be parked for a while till they get it in. I heard they are about $60, does anyone know if thats right or what the price is? Thanks.

before you get a new MF switch, plug another headlight bulb in just to make sure. that happened to me with silverstars in my honda. same shit, only had highs, and fogs didnt work. i bough a new MF and it didnt fix it. turns out it was the silverstars. just a though. maybe save $60.

I didnt get home till late, but i plugged it in to see if it would fix the problem...and IT DID! I got lights now! Wont get it fixed till tomorrow after work, gotta drive my bros Eclipse around for another day. Oh well, atleast itll be fixed. Thanks guys!

wait you pluged a light bulb in and it fixed it or you put the MFS in and it fixed it cause if you did how is it still not fixed untill tomorow.. that made no sence...

the fog lights run ont he same wire as the lowbeams it could be that both of your headlights blew out at the same time (happend to me with SS's)

so tell us one more time.. what did you cange and what worked? lol

lol. I plugged my MFS in last night when i got home just to see if the lights would come on...and they did. I didnt put it back together though...wiper controls on (since new MFS's dont come with them, have to use the old ones), bolted in, and the panels back on. Thats why it wasnt fixed last night. But tonight when i got home from work i put it back together and now its fixed.
