Default Heat open stock headlights

Okay i've found people saying its possible, and many others saying its impossible. If you have opened your headlights WITHOUT a dremel or cutting them open please share.

1 - Oven at 250°

2 - place 1 lamp in for 15 minutes

3 - pull lamp out and gently but firmly start to pry at the inner edge (where the turn signal bulb is)

4 - after about 3-4 minutes of prying, place back in oven for approx 5-7 minutes

5 - pull lamp and repeat steps 3 and 4 until it pops open

I've done 3 or 4 stock sets. It's far from impossible, but it's not easy. Just be patient and follow these steps

Just wondering, why would you want to open them? I may be asking a stupid question, as I'm sure there's a very valid reason for doing so, but what is it?

This is generally why people open them up. Also, sometimes folks do it to make black housing headlights.

Yep. What wiggy said. Though this is my first retro so i'm cheating and using the ebay projectors with 9007 ends.
Wiggy have you ever seen these? They literally fuckin fit right in no cutting or trimming or anything. Put the "nut" on the back that holds them in and there you go.
