Default Headlights wont come on!!!!!!

M y headlights dont work unless I hold the dimmer switch back. They wouldnt stay on a couple of times unless I flicked the dimmer switch repeatedly and now they wont stay on at all. I have checked all the fuses...plus the headlights work...just not with the on/off switch...any suggestions?

Most likely needs a multifunction switch then. Would you like me to get a price for you?

Its a problem that has come up from time to time in srt's and regular neon's. Just in case you dont know what it is, its the the entire knob/post (whatever you want to call it) that sticks off your steering colum that turns the lights on and off. It can cause a fire and is something to be worried about. Some owners have opened it to find black wires and signs of overheating. Get it fixed or replaced soon! like today kind of soon. Order the part or take it to the dealer. Should be able to be fixed under warrenty.

What kind of bulbs did you have on the car and how long have you had them for...?

Regardless, it's your multifunction switch that has burned out along with its harness (on the steering column). Remove the top steering column cover and you should see the harness that goes to the multifunction switch fried...

Fix it like, NOW. There's a risk of fire if you dont get this taken care of, might be able to get it covered under warranty if you had the STOCK BULBS on the car (both headlamps and fogs)...

This is why you don't get an HID system on this car without the proper wiring/harness upgrades.

well that was definately the problem...wiring harness is FRIED...however, the switch looks ok. should it be ok and just replace the harness or is the switch the cause? Found some other stuff on here...someone should make sticky about this and post a warning! Now I need harness and/or switch if anyone wants to sell one!!!!!

You'll want to replace the switch and the wiring repair kit. My prices are above + shipping.
