I bought some ebay black housing headlights a few months back. Yes I know, that was my first mistake. They were fine for about a week then my passenger side headlight started getting condensation in it. Followed a few weeks later was my driver side. I have tried running a new bead of sealant around the housing 3 times as well as where the bulbs snap in. They still get condensation! Anyone have any recommendations as to how I can fix this? Thanks for any helpful feedback
I bet its your turn signal area. ALL of the "ebay" Eagle Eye brand headlights use cheaper components than the DEPOs. The turn signal literally FALLS APART every time I work on a brand new pair of those headlights. Also, the turn signal bulb doesn't not sit firm thus allowing moisture and dirt to get inside since its not making a tight seal.
I trust what you're are saying but my turn signals seem to sit pretty tight in there. But for added insurance I put some silicone sealant around the edges. I think it's coming from where my light bulb goes in but agian I've added sealant there as well and it still does it. Guess I'll have to try it again. Thanks for your help hak!
It could very well be that place too. To be honest they are just a cheap company/brand of headlights. I've had some come in that the rubber boot that goes right where the headlight bulb connects, well that boot won't even be sealed onto the reflector like it should be. Not all come in as bad as others but the majoirty I've worked with have poor quality issues.
Here are some pics I just took of how their turn signals are junk.
On the left is the one that comes with the eagle eyes. On the right, the ones with the DEPOs. The DEPO ones are well made and do not fall apart in your hands unlike the cheap ones from the Eagle Eyes.
See below...
I meant to flip the bulb on the right over so it said "Sylvania" but oh well. It's a Sylvania bulb. Alot better quality than Wagner IMHO. Also the bulbs on the Eagle Eye ones, the color is more funky looking orange than the other.
wow that does look like shit lol
Good thing I switched out the bulbs, I have silvania silverstar's turn and headlight bulbs. I'll have to take a look at both of bulb areas and make sure they are sealing properly. Thanks for your help hak!
This may not be the case with you; but: Some people try to re-use the factory retainer on the headlight bulb because it's an easy way to install the headlight. However; neither the Eagle Eyes, nor the DEPO will see a good seal if you don't use the components that come with the light.

I'm really not sure what the retainer is you're talkin about. Do you have a pic or a better description? I know I had to take the OEM rubber seals off of my headlights and put them on the new ones.
i have black housing headlights by DEPO on my SRT and i got condensation on the first pair i received, it looked like the turn signal was not making a tight seal against the housing...
they shipped me a new pair and i haven't had a problem ever since, it's been over a year now...

I assume the seals you moved from the stocker is just the outer seal that cushions against the fender and fills the gap to the cover.
I'm talking about the ring around the 9007 bulb that holds the bulb and gasket to the housing. Some people shortcut the installation process by backing the ring off and never actually disconnecting the stock bulb from the harness. That OEM retainer will not secure the bulb and gasket back in place on the aftermarket housing....it will feel like it's working, but it doesn't.

Did you make these? Or did DEPO start producing them? Don't confuse "Black bezeled" with "Black housing"
I love the E-Bay listings: "Euro" style, JDM (Did they produce the Neon domestically in Japan?), New "Projector" style w/improved quality....etc.
Look at the lens of the headlight: DEPO headlights say "DEPO" right in the lens. Check 15 E-Bay listings for the black bezels and you'll see "KS" in the first few digits of the number on the lens of every one of them. These are Eagle Eyes. apparently EE makes Euro, JDM, Projector, Improved quality lights that all look identical.

oh okay I got what you're saying. I'll have to check mine out, I'll try resealing them if I can. Thanks!
