and what do you mean by putting the fogs on relay? cause they dont work either. so im assuming the connector will do it all, go back to stock bulbs and save for some hids...
Go to a junk yard and get a new connector, or buy the repair kit. Cut off your connector, and solder in the new connector. The repair kit comes with the connector, and each wire is about 6-12" long. Save your melted connector, because all the wiring on the repair kit is purple so you will need to see which wire goes where on your stock connector. If you buy a connector from a wrecked car you wont need to, since the connectors match up. Fyi a neon connector and an srt-4 are the same. A couple of the wires are a different color, but it doesnt matter as long as they are in the right spot.
When you finish fixing your harness, take your headlight bulbs and throw them away. Buy stock bulbs and use them from now on. DOnt put in hids until you learn what a relay harness is. Hids will do the same damn thing, because the initial startup from the ballast is too much for the stock wiring.
Install your fog lights on a relay harness. Its not a must, but it will prevent this from happening again. The factory fog lights should be on a relay, but they arent. Why dodge didnt do that is beyond me. Chances are your problem came from the headlight bulbs though, but alot of 2nd gens have this problem.
Read this. Part number for the repair kit is in there
