Default Headlight Tinting

Hey I cant find anything on here about tinting headlights.

I understand that black housing would accomplish the same thing basically but id like to put a very SLIGHT darker shade over my headlights and im not sure if anyone on here has tried that before. No i am not going ricer black or any crap like that I'd just like to make it a shade darker to match my CF eyelids a little more. I Have VHT window tint spray not sure if this would work the same way it works on taillights but if anyone could offer some input it'd be great!
thanks

I nightshaded a few coats over mine , but with light coats it looks more purple-ish than black , so by the time i made the purple look go away they were way to dark , i couldn't see shit at night . So then i bought some HID's and the 8k's made them look purple at night , not good . I wouldnt recomend it , lol . i ruined my set , well i had to sand them down with 1200 grit sandpaper and reclear coat them .
