i was thinking more on the lines of like the led tails and 3rd brake light. maybe like a single row of 4 mini leds

I doubt theres enough room. The only part thats deep is the round circle. The rest is flat and thin so you would need to cut into the bumper for them to fit, unless the lights stuck out.

you could use some surface mount leds... could easily fit... search ebay, its like a strip, very thin
