Default Fog Light Rewire (EASY)

I just rewired my foglights the easiest way possible. Pop the fuse cover off the side of the dash, take out the 2 screws that hold it in place, pull out the fuse box (wires are very long), cut the pink/green wire and purple/white wire (they are the ones at the bottom of the fuse box), now hook up the purple/white wire that comes from the fuse box to the pink/green wire that goes to the harness and the pink/green from fuse box to the purple/white from the harness. When you are done the foglights and headlights work backwards. When you go to turn the headlights on the fogs will turn on. And when you pull the foglight switch out to turn on the foglights your headlights will turn on. A simple 5 minute job. If you cut the wires a little farther down on the harness you will never be able to tell you messed with it once you tape it back up.

all he did was reverse the wires that control each and the switch just operates backwards now, sounds good but i would probably get confused when i go to turn my lights on

ok just a question I may be wrong but is this going to cause your headlights to turn off when you switch to brights? or not? are the brights controlled seperately?

I dont know about the highbeams since I have HID's on my car. Its so simple to do and you can go back to stock in 5 minutes as well. I didnt want to rewire my lights and add a switch or have to spend $ to buy a PT headlight switch setup.

Nice. Never actually thought about that method but it's great to have more options for everyone to try out the one they like best. I might just have to try this. Please post pictures of wiring too lots of people do work best that way.

wow, that sounds fantastic. wish i'd thought of that. Although with that method, like another i've read, you will always have fogs on when you have your headlights on. No way to just put the headlights on by themselves...... but comon, who uses just headlights these days

I do.

The fogs take away from my projectors plus my fogs are useless now.

good idea! I might have to give this one a try! Who all has done this and verified functionality?

What size fuses do each of the wires use? Are they on the same fuse?

Thanks!
