i dont know if this has been talked about or not but i did the fog light mod about a year ago on my 03 and about a week ago the plug on the back of the multi function switch melted and now i have no parking, tail or dash lights so i took it in to the dealer before i knew the plug melted (i thought the switch went bad) dealer was going to warrenty the switch when they took the plug out of the m.f. switch and saw the melted plug with the extra wire attached no more warrenty "you need a new dash wireing harrness and its $3000.00 becuase you cant buy the plugs for the harrness" so if this happens to you REMOVE THE WIRES before you take it in.
Which fog light mod did you do? I still have no idea why people don't do the easiest of all fog light mods and just use a relay and get signal power from the corner lights on the front bumper. Its far easier to do it that way, PLUS you won't risk burning up the multi-function switch which is Dodges downfall since you will be using a relay and no longer be putting a strain on the stock multi-function switch. Fog lights would come on with parking lights just like they should in the first place. This ALSO applies to those guys out there who upgrade their headlights to high wattage halogen or HID. I hope some of you out there who doubted me read this for your "proof" lol. (You know who you are)
Sucks to hear about your car bro. I doubt that price is BS since it would require a completely new wiring harness. This just goes to show that the neon, err my bad, SRT wiring isn't as inferior as some of you thought.
Even doing it that way, I would HIGHLY recommend using a relay just to be safe. its even posted in the "fine print" in that link hehe.

A really ambitious person would use the control stalk switch to power a relay that then feeds the fog lights. This actually would get you a little more brightness, while retaining the dash light. But I just wanted to find out how it all worked, so this much is enough for me.
I will be doing a different fog light mod write-up (w/ pics, diagrams, etc) for you guys this weeknd if I get to feeling better. Have mono at the moment so I have no energy what so ever. Castrol had PM'd me yesterday asking about how to do it and I gave him the run down on what all is involved. He was actually suprised he haden't thought of it earlier .
$3000 sounds normal considering the amount the wiring harnesses are and labor. A lot of the connectors ARE actually available. Email me w/ the exact connector you are needing and I'll see if I can locate one for you.
Indeed. Labor is where it's at. You would be better off cutting the connector (plus maybe 6" of slack) from a junkyard Neon. Make sure you get it from a Neon with fogs.
no it was a different one ill see if i can find it
You are probably referring to mine. The foglight mod is not the fault, UNLESS you have higher wattage bulbs.
That how-to was spec'd with all the appropriate current draws, and none even came close. Hell the fuses would have blown.
Search the board, a couple others have had that melted connector/hraness.
I my self experienced it. I took the harness out, disassembled the stalk and put it back together. It started working agin. My stuff has been working for 9 months now since I did that
In MY case I KNOW my harness burnt because I had a loose ground wire. My TT was showing a 17V charge at the alternator, I drove 25 miles in the morning like that and all light were working .
That evening, all the park lights died, and I root caused it to the partially melted harness and the bad ground.
( the gound wire on the rad support was loose)
