Default e46 curved shield mod progress

ok bcp718 brought this to my attention so i figured i'd give it a try on my e46's since anything would be an improvement ofr those projectors.

the object of this mod (for those of you who don't know) it to obtain a wide and sharp cutoff w/ some decent color in it.

so heres the planning so far

more to come soon.

What kind of metal are you using? Looks pretty thick. JVX uses roofing flashing. It's pretty thin. If you don't get that cutom cut cleanly it'll show peals & valleys. That's why he cust them with a straight edge & a razor blade. About 30-40 scores will break through the flashing.

I tried this a few time for soem projectors I have here. I messed the 1st few up but finally started to get the process done which resulted in a nice curved shield. It's super time consuming so I haven't done any since though. Looks pretty cool so far. I haven't seen anyone do them with the E46's yet. Like you said, anything has to be an improvment with those!

i'm using flash as well. that shield in the pic is the original e46 shield as a reference. i'm doing it exactly like jvx did.

the only bitch part is the only power source i have that can power hids for testing is my car
