Default Colormodding the LS430 projector

Doing a little work to my Highlander this weekend. Might end up having a quad retro but I'm not sure as of this point.

I decided to play around with the LS430 after removing them from my headlights. I removed the lens and took some speaker wiring and cut 2 small slivers about 1/2" long. The wiring is I think 18 gauge. I stuck them in the groove or channel that the lens sits in. Hardest part and trying to get the lens holder back on since it already sits very tight with it being stock lens spacing. Might have to slightly enlrage the top lens hold slot to allow more room for the added spacers.

Result is a clean colorband increase, nothing overly done. Everyone knows the stock LS doesn't have an intense colorband. It's faint, but it's there more in a pinkish/purple colorband. The spaced lens gives it a more vibrant apperance. I also did not see any detrimental issues from doing this. The width did not change and neither did output from what I could tell. i will do more testing when it gets dark tonight against a stock LS.

85122+ bulb and driver side LS430 being used for the test.

More messing around using smaller gauge wire. I think I like this one better. It sharpened up the cutoff a great bit and also gave me a slight hint of color. Here is a pic around 7-8 feet away comparing the TL/ZKW to the now smaller wire colormodded LS430. At the 15-18 ft. distance the LS430 band was not as blurry as the larger wire due to less spacing. There seems to be a very small window of a sweet spot. Somewhere close to the smaller sized wire for best results so far.

Mathcing pair 85122+'s used....

For reference, here is the stock colorband...

Update.

Here are some shots of the smaller sized wire/spacer.

Roughly 25+ feet away....

Close-up. Doesn't really show how they truly are but its close. The first pic shows the intensity and how it really looks in person.
