Can anyone help me with headlight and parking light "re-wire"
I've attempted to read the online manual, just gave me more questions than answers...
I need to locate the wire (color of the wire/stripe would be nice, too) after the multifuction switch (headlight switch) before the headlight and/or parking light relays, if there are any relays...I can't even figure out where the headlight relays, so maybe they're aren't any?
Here's what I'm trying to do:
I got one of those "dusk sensing modules"...Basically when the photocell sensing darkness it turns into a on switch, which triggers a relay to turn on the headlights...To keep my headlight switch function like stock, I have to splice into the wiring after the switch, but before the relay, if there is one...
To my understanding the wiring goes:
battery>dash fuse block>column switch...Now the rest is what confuse me...Does the wiring go from column switch, to one or more relays located inside the under the hood fuse distribution block then to the headlights? If so, is there just one wire that goes from the switch to the relay or is there FOUR wires, one for the each headlight and parking light?

The headlights are purple/white right out of the switch and are pos. controlled. I am not sure if the go to a relay after the switch but I'd bet they do.

Thanks, I'm off to a start...
Any idea where the headlight wires splits into two?
Does driver and passenger headlight split before or after the multifunction (column) switch?
It splits after the switch. I am almost positive it goes to relays under the hood and splits there. You won't need to mess with that unless you have a crappy module you are trying to install. The ones I sell/install are completely done at the switch.

Thanks...So all I have to do is remove the panel that covers the steering column and splicing into the purple/white wire...You wouldn't to happen to know the color of the parking lights?

black/yellow
I got the wires right underneath the colum where all the wiring comes down. There's 2 main harnesses there. One for the ignition and one for the lights, horn, ect..
So if I put pos. power to the purple/white and black yellow wire under the steering column, my headlight lights and parking lights will turn on, correct?
Update, thanks to ponchonutty I was able to wire them up...Very simply install...
Now my head/parking lights turn on automatically when it gets dark out...I have the self dimming gentex mirror I don't have to do anything during the night anymore...
I think I could of done the same thing with a relay, photocell, and toggle switch but I only paid $12 shipped off ebay for the module...
man, my camaro used to have one of those, it was nice not having to turn on my lights, but i dont think i need another excuese to get lazy haha,
Ya, I had a Chevy S10 that had no nothing but had the auto lights...I met a cobalt owner who told me that was one of the sole reasons he the Cobalt because of the extra amenities...So I wanted to do the same and did so for only $20 (module, T-tap connectors and wire)...

Just remember that the next time an RSX or Cobalt SS wants to race interiors:
"Anything YOUR car comes with from the factory, I can add for $20!"

Except for rear power windows
I was the one who got taunted by a S4...They pulled up beside me reved their car all while opening and closing their rear power windows...It was funny...

Never noticed that over here. They just don't know, I guess.
But I have noticed that the average German wanna-be shuts down at 130mph....they "git skeered" at high-speeds. Americans are usually just insane and never quit until they hit the wall.
