Default Bright Blue Headlights

I'm looking to buy some bright blue head light bulbs and fog light bulbs, but don't want to fork over the money for an H.I.D. kit... Anyone have any pictures with suggestions? I've done some searching, but haven't had much luck finding any pictures.

well i don't think there's much as far as bulbs. some have a slight tint of blue but theyre mainly white. try rockblocker's. they are lenses/covers that go over your fogs or headlights which tint the color(i think they have yellow, blue and smoke).

Do not, and I emphasize, do not buy eBay bulbs. I purchased a full set of them for $40 for my '02 Cougar (when I had it) and they crapped out on me a week or so later. Looked cool while they were in, but I have heard nothing but good things about Sylvania Silverstars...it's not a "blue" (like H.I.Ds), but moreso of a very bright white.

What about the ones that Autozone and Advance sell... Eurodesigns or whatever?

Robbie8302...
Stick with SilverStars and you won't have issues. I had mine on since I got the car a year ago, and they are still going strong !

Eurodesignz are good for the price. I had them. I had HIDs now, no comparison.

Anybody got some pics? I've heard lots of good things about both, more so the Silverstars, but they're so expensive. Which ones have a better blue tint to them?

I've heard mixed feelings about the ones at Autozone, etc. Some like them, some don't...some break, some stay in for more than a year. It's all a matter of how much you're wanting to spend.

For bulb replacement- PIAA, period...if you've got the money, that is. If not, and you have to go cheaper, I wouldn't get anything over a 6000k bulb...a lot of manufacturers make their "H.I.D bulbs" shoddily. 6000k is about the right bulb for the "color" that won't scream "RICE!" out to anyone if they look too blue.

Make sure that whatever you buy, you don't opt for the cheapos that just have the painted glass housing (such as eBay).

Here's a little comparison that I find handy:

Did you want it to be "bluer" than this? These are 4000k output. Note also that Silvanias have one hell of a warranty...and someone please correct me if I'm wrong - but I believe it's limited lifetime.

Chris, does that kit come with highs, lows, and fogs, or just highs/lows? A full set of Silvanias will run you shy of $80.

Props on proper tilde use, you impressed this English major!
