Default Boost Gauge Light

Hey guys do you know if a new light by autolumination called 194 superstar bulb would work better in my boost gauge/oilpressure gauge then 194 5 LED matrix bulb? Like will it be brighter?

Thanks guys

I just ordered it because I can't stand how the gauge looks with just a regular 194 bulb. The 5 is so much brighter than everything else, plus it is harder to see the needle...

I will post the results when I get the bulb...

gonna be hard to see the needle as it does not glow and i'm replacing all of my cluster bulbs to matrix bulbs so that the needles will go better as there should be no ill sideffects of more light

It's just hard to see the needle on mine because the ring around the outside isn't as bright anymore...

Finally got the bulb, I installed it and the color is much more even, the 5 isn;t really bright anymore. It made everything a little brighter, but didn't help with being able to see the needle any better... I will try to get pics if anyone wants them

You don't have to open it, just take the 4 screws out of the dash, lift and up and loosen the 2 screws that hold the boost gauge in, then you just twist the old bulb out and replace. The worst part is the 2 screws that hold it to the underside of the dash...

Well I finally got some decent pictures,

Before, a little blurry

After

They look much better in person, it is so hard to take decent pictures of these gauges at night

It actually made the gauge a little easier to read, it isn't so dim anymore

That's the BLUE superstars correct?

I'm thinking of trying the WHITE superstars with the boost gauge, apparently they shine through the green film and make the numbers APPEAR light blue, and it SHOULD light up around the outside of the gauge like the stock bulb does, only it SHOULD be a nicer white.

We'll see when i order these things if this works...

That's mine with a cheap ebay 5 bulb wedge. I think I paid like 6 bucks for 10 of them. Yours is much brighter by the looks of the pic.
