Default blue lights 8500k...?

Hey i havent searched to much for this topic cause i dont have the time...

i want to get the light bulbs that make my lights look like the BMWs (hid) however i dont want to spend the 100 bucks to do a HID conversion kit... yes im lazy and cheap....

Is there any bulbs out there that i can buy that makes my lights look very similar to the HIDs?

someone said Ebay sells a bunch of the 8500k lights.... the pics look similar but i dont trust ebay that much...

any thoughts?

thoughts:
1) you will never have lights like a BMW without gettinga retro fit..because i'm pretty sure the color is not an outcome of the bulb, instead the projector (hak knows MUCH more about this).
2) to have a hue that high (8500k), you will have to get a hid kit, or you can get the bulbs and burn up your wiring within a few months..

to get things to look nice, it, unfortunately, requires fair amounts of money.

yea satyr is right, you can look for a super white bulb, that would be the closest to a bmw, you might find one that will fit our car but i dont think it will fool anyone

lol dude if you can find a decent set of hid's for 100 bucks that is cheap..

get silverstars.. or get HID's (retros if you want the "bmw look")

do a search on retros and see how they look, they are very exspensive but if your really into lighting its well worth it also read the stickys at the top to understand how all this stuff works, hak dident waste a whole day writing that stuff up for nothing

Quoted for truth!!

P.S. BMW's, and all other high end luxury sports cars that have the nice purpleish-blue lights, use a 4500K bulb, it is the prismatic qualities of the shield inside the projector, and the lense that creates that color, however if you look on the ground the next time you are passing a nice luxury car with HID projectors, you will notice that the light on the ground is actually pure white, and VERY closely mimics daylight.

Correct. Retros are the way to go. Mine is a 6000k but still appears very blue while also putting out a large amount of usable light.
Here's a pic, they we're height adjusted quite right in this pic. Thats why the one on hte right looks brighter.

I definitely agree with this..I had an 8k kit on my saleen for a few weeks..gave it to my brother and got a 4300k kit.

8k looks nice, but the sacrifice of performance isn't worth it.
