Anyone done the blue LED radio install? I know I saw someone finished it and wondered if they would step up with some kinda how-to or if their services were for sale and I could send them my radio board to have them do mine?
Thanx,
Chris.

Stage 3 Methanized....coming soon
My mods require a DCR security clearance!
I just put blue LED's in my stock radio and CD changer this weekend. There is very little room for the 3 mm LED's and resistors. I worked on it a good 3 hours both days to get it to liht up right. Now that I know how to do it, I don't hink it would take more than a couple hours. I also did the HVAC controls and the defrost switch. I got the LED's from ebay....50 pack of 3mm LED's and resistors for $10. I will say I really like how it looks so the time and effort was well worth it!
The scary part about it is the stock bulbs can't be put back on once you take(break) them off. Once you commit to it, you have to make it work. I took a couple pictues of the cd changer along the way. The radio was a lot harder to do. These should give you an idea of what had to be done....
This is the actual circuit board of the changer.
This shows a little detail of what it looks like. The top 3 replace the yellow lights. The little "frosty" one is for the numbers. All of the ones in teh radio are like the little on at the bottom.....all 10 of them!
This shows a detail of the little ones for the radio. The blue one is the stock bulb that has to be broken off of the board. The LED's I used were 3mm ones from ebay that came with the resistors. I haven't checked the ohm rating on them and I can't remember what each color stands for. The one on the left is ready to be soldered on to the board.
If anyone has any questions, just ask. I'll be more than happy to help ya out.
Blue transparency film works wonders... same for mileage odometer part in dash.

That looks very nice, good outcome! I am currently messing around with my window switches to get them blue, should be done today, but as far as the radio goes and my limited patience for fine soldering projects I think I am just gonna buy a radio that has blue light up potential......
As for the transparency thing, isn't that very obvious to look at though and see the film? that would drive me nuts personally.......

It does so with authority and poise, but while slipping relatively unnoticed through traffic, never being violent, or dare I say it, frightening. When you ask the SRT-4 to take you somewhere fast, it punches you in the face, throws you over its shoulder, and runs, screaming, so quickly that its tires can barely keep up."
i think i'll just buy a blue deck at that point. then i can watch movies too. definetly going to do the gauge panel tho. anyone done it where there aren't any hotspots? (bright spots and dark spots)
hell when i tried to get my odometer and display blue i took purple suran rap and put it behind the plastic cover on the radio......it turned it blue easily.
