Default Blue Gauge Needles

Has anyone converted their gauge needles to light up blue? I have seen it done on other cars, but it looks like our needles might be solid orange plastic and not clear with an orange backing. Can anyone give me some insight.

The plastic is a solid orange/red color throughout

The motors in the gauges are standard however, and I've been looking into using needles out of a different vehicle...so you could do the same if you bought a blue EL kit. I doubt you'll be able to find an OEM vehicle with blue needles, but you can probably find a set in an aftermarket gauge kit.

And I should include...the backing of the needles is actually white.

I found a kit that makes clear needles, or clear needles with a painted backing blue. All you would have to find is a clear needle to make them blue with this kit. Check out the following website.

If anyone knows of a clear needle that would fit our cars let me know.

So it's possible to change the needles on the gauges?
Would make a neat "how-to", hint hint.

On most cars I think they just pull off.

Maybe I'll buy a set and add it to my upcoming how to from my thread about "gauges in any color"
