Default Blue Dash Lights *Install Question*

Over the weekend I was able to install all of the Blue Lights except for the Boost Guage...how do you get that stupid thing off? I tried forever and just could not figure that stupid thing out.

Also, my spedo is kinda dim from 0 - 35ish...I used all 5 led bulbs...will inverted solve this problem?

Any help would be appreciated!

Do you just have to unscrew the cable that is going into it? I feel so dumb even asking...I am pretty mechaically inclined but this one just threw me for a loop!

Push the dash up, and look up at the boost gauge. You will see two phillips screws.

About how far do you have to push it up? I tried to do that but I was just waiting for a "snap." I will give it another shot.
Thanks!

Push it up enough so you can see in there. Yes, you have to unscrew the vac line...it is a PITA! and getting it back on is just as difficult. use two hands, one to keep the line from spinning, the other to unscrew it. It's like screwing a cable line into your tv...it always wants to unwind

WAIT!!!! I hope you haven't made anything go snap just yet. If you didn't know, there are 2 phillips screws holding the dash down, one on each side of the defrost vent, you have to use a shorty phillips screwdriver. Then lift up and slide the dash toward you. You dont have to take the line off of the boost guage. Just undo the 2 screws from under it, pull it out and use needle nose pliers to unscrew the bulb holder and put it back in. Lots easier than fingers.

take out the pillars and read the above post.

EDIT: there shouldnt be any dim spots, you probably just have the bulb in backwards. try swapping bulbs around.

My boost guage is brighter at the top.

And my other guages are brighter in spots as well.

Thanks for the info! No, nothing has "snapped" yet. I have taken many a dashes apart but I am always nervious about pulling/pushing too hard. I will give this stuff a try.
Thanks!

Hey jee08 what bulbs did you use? I got LED bulbs from Autolumination.com but mine look different than yours. I really like the way your look.

yeah, the easiest way do it is unscrew the screw out of the dash in the vents and lift the dasah up the you will unscrew the boost line with a wrench or an adjustable wrench which works better for you

No need to unscrew the vacuum line. That's just an unnecessary step and a waste of time.

Wouldn't it be easier to pull the vacuum line out of the rubber boot that connects it to the metal connector? Thats what I did and the just pushed it back in when I was finished.

And to get to the guage you have to take off the A-pillers, the top of the dash which is held in by 4 screws...2 on the very ends and two in the middle between the vent. You also have to disconnect the light from the connector from the dash.

No need to remove the gauge. Just twist the bulb holder and then change bulb.

Reverse order to reinstall everything
