Default Which Is Better For HIDs...Stock or Projector?

I plan on getting HID's for both my headlights and foglights...so which is better to use with the HID kits...stock headlights or projectors? I've been doing a little research and i've read that the stocks are crappy because the light scatters too much and i've heard some of the projectors out there can be pretty crappy too. So if projectors are better than stock, which projectors should I get? Any help would be appreciated...

It all depends, the stock headlights disperse pattern sucks but looks better to me that is than the projectors. I have had h.i.d.s in both and liked the stock headlight look alot more. But then again I'm no light guru. If you look into the light mod section you'll find pics of what the halo's look like with h.i.d.s, you'll also see alot of people who swapped out the projector for better styles. It's all your choice man. Do what makes you happy and the mod will be fun. Hope this helps a little.

DO you mean projectors as a true hid projector and doing a retrofit, or the crappy ebay/modern projector headlights? You should spend a little more money and do a retrofit. Theres a couple guys that do them and here and do excellent work.

x2 running around with hids in a stock housing is a waste. plus there are no hid kits (for 9007 housings) that have the correct items so you do not blind on coming traffic.

projectors, even the crappy mpx projectors atleast block half the beam which is what you need. a "real" projector will control the light output giving it a nice even distribution on the road.

i've said this before so forgive me if i sound like a broken record but. only go as high as 5000k bulbs. the high the kelvin, the lower the output. people swear that their 8000 or 10,000k hid kit is super bright. in actuality its a matter of perspective because they see alot of color on the road. like the guy who put a straight through muffler on his cavalier and swears he got all this power from it because its louder.

so with all this preaching; the bottom line is i would be to do a retro. its pricey, and time consuming but worth it. there are hundreds of retro progress threads, how to's, and general hid info here. check them out and start hacking up a headlight.

as far as fogs i believe remax has done a retro for them. i don't which projector he used though. but it can be done.

go here to check out projector options. the popular ones are tl's, e55's, and fx-r's because you can still have hi/lo beam. another thing you won't have wit hjust and hid kit.

tsx's, and rx330's would be easier to retro because of the size but you won't have hi's

hope this helps
