Default ATTN: how to open up the stock head lights?

What is the best way of doing this? Dremal and cut off wheel on the glue then pry it apart?
I plan to do a light night shade coating over the crome finish to give it a black crome and upgrade to brighter lights.

Please dont reply unless positive info or a valid concern on doing this
(I.E. just buy a pair dont attempt.)

I have built custom cars and parts so this wont be hard.

i think you set your oven to like 250 degrees and bake the headlights in there for like 3 minutes and it softens up the adhesive on there enough that you can gently pry the clear cover off of the housing

or im sure you could use a heat gun if you have one

haknslash how would you go about doing this?

td1042k I dont think this sounds like a good idea since the housing is plastic.

Stock ones can't be opened without possibly ruining them. Valeo (the makers of the headlight assembly) have been using a sealant that doesn't get soft under heat. Therefore, to open them up by heating them you must by DEPO oem replacement headlights. This is the ONLY way your going to open them up without cutting or hacking your housing all up to pieces.

you use the heat method just as he sujested, but it can't be applied to use on the stock units. It has to be aftermakret because they use a much more pliable sealant.

Here is my how-to. Follow it for opening up the aftermarket headlights, then modify how you wish... http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175219
