I'll see if I can take some pics of mine on a wall to show the cutoff. There is definitely a glare but it isn't as bad as one would think. Not even close to what projectors accomplish.

This picture is of a 8000k kit on Shmirgin44's car. IMO I think his camera really exaggerated the glare...

Just to show how much of a comparison there is, I made this pic for those who say otherwise.

People dont realize that most of the glare comes from a crappy bulb being used. They jump on the first lesser expensive kit and end up with glare instead of defined lighting. I was selling good kits but for $20 less everyone went with a vendor. I get German and other European kits rather than Korea/Taiwan imitated HID.

The bulbs have nothing to do with the glare other than the two types of bulbs out there. One being half shielded D2R (for HID reflector housings) over say the fully exposed D2S (for HID projector housings) bulb. The fact that there is glare is soley due to the fact your putting HID into a housing that was designed for halogen use only. Halogen and HID emit light in a completely different wave spectrum than halogen does. Its not simply a matter of just sticking a bulb in there and calling it a day.

i will agree that german parts are far superior to the korean/asain cheaper quality made equipemtn. That why I only recommend oem, the best.

The rebasing job also play a big factor in how crapy HID kits perform. Some are sub par while others can be horrible. This is all due to the rebaseing as well. some kits dn't come with the return rod on the bulb in the correct position (6 O'clock) and that play a big role in performance as well, this all has to do with the rebaseing quality.
