Default Another new HID retro has been started

Doing a retro for a member off here.

I'll be doing black housing with chrome trim just like mine with the custom made shroud. This time i'll be using Acura TSX projectors. They are single xenon projectors (low beam only) but they deliver a very sharp, wide, evenly distributed and colorful beam pattern.

He also requested for a color mod on the projectors.

Look for a few pics tonight!

Anyways, just letting you guys know. If you have any questions, let me know.

If the group buy that I am waiting on (you know which one I'm talking about) falls through, or takes too much longer, I'm going to have you do a set for me as well. I'm absolutely sick of the stock lights. Hell, my foglights go farther down the road than these things.

Yes, I do these on the side (I have a 7-5 day job as well). Its a first come, first serve basis. Retros are made in the order they are recieved.

I really want the housing from that group buy though.

*Can you get any deals on projectors/ballasts?

Deals? As in cheaper than retail? Sorry, I can't help ya there.

However as far as oem equipment goes, HIDPlanet to me has the best deal. Its 100% oem, brand new, and can only be used in retrofit applications.

For others-*HIDPlanet does NOT sell HID "kits" as in a "plug and play" kit. All parts are considered oem replacement parts because they will not work in anything that isn't designed for HID, i.e. must use HID projectors.

Here are some new pics. I did a color mod and I ended up using (4) #8
washers. There is no more rainbow above the cut-off and there is blue
and purple throughout most of the width of the beam once you back up
around 25+ft. Also some crazy mixed colors right in the middle around
the step! All pics are of one modded TSX projector with 4300k philips
colorshifted bulb.

Here is a video clip I made showing the colors in the modded TSX...

right click/save as please!!! http://www.haknslash.com/pictures/HI...o/P1010023.MOV

Roughly over 25 ft from the wall....

Zoomed in view of the colorband with projector roughly over 25 ft away...

Here's a few pics directly in the modded colorband...

Here's me holding the projector while it was semi-mounted in the housing. I'm basically showing how much the rear sticks out.....

Cool wall shot...

And last but not least, here is a panoramic pic I made showing some nice width and pretty colorband the cut-off....

The color mod varies on each different style of projector. In essence, your basically changing either the distance from the cut-off shield to the bulb or the distance from the lens to the cut-off shield. What I did was add 4 washers in between the front portion of the projector and the rear portion. It comes apart in two sections.

In this pic you can see that there is indeed two seperate portions of the projector body. You place the 4 washers on each of the little nipples on the bottom of the TSX projector in between the two halves. The red circle is the nipple. There are two of them. Each nipple recieves 2 #8 washers (4 in total) per each projector.
