HID is not a good idea in fog lights. As you may or may not be aware, HID is not the ideal solution for increment weather situations.

I have 6000k HIDs...and when I get the cash i'm going with a 6000k...maybe 8000k fog kit....partially because 893 bulbs are hard to find in a kit version. I've found a few though that will apply very well.

Sorry if I haven't repsonded so promptly but I forget where I post sometimes. The only reason I said an 8000k Fog kit is because that is the only 893 bulb kit I can find. I've tried like hell to find an HID kit for an 893 bulb that is for around 260 and 8000k is all I can find. I know there is another forum member who can find a 6000k but I don't have enough guts for a $350 fog kit....my headlamp HIDs weren't even that much. thats why I said 8000k....I wonder if that would look bad? What do you think?

Off Topic, but.. If you go to advanced search, enter your user name and it will display the most recent posts that you already replied to. I use it at least 10 times a day to look at posts. Very useful.

I'm curious as to where you found the HID kit for the fogs. Is this the same as the plug and play kit for headlights, or is it a replacement housing? I've been looking to do something like this.

There is an HID company that makes the 893 bubl in an 8300K...yeah i know odd number but the kit looks legit, very fancy company. I've found a couple for the 893. I'm curious as to how many have tried these HIDs but there is no need for splicing wires. Just plug in some conectors and bolt the ballast somewhere and then replace a few fuses and you're set. much like my headlamp HIDs...the 8300K kit looks damn sexy. bu thats combined with the 8300K headlights....do you guys think my 6000K would work well with the 8300k Fogs?
Not rying to jack the thread ^^^ but Modern performance is offering a direct fog light replacment from PIAA, personally though I'd spend a little more and buy HIDs. trust me its freakin worht the Money!

I just picked up a 8000K HID kit for fogs from a guy on the boards. $290 shipped. I think he only had 1 kit, but he said if there is lots of interest he might be able to get more.

I'm running a 4300K McCullough kit for headlights.

I'm very interested... I'm running mcculloch 6000k for my headlights, and just want something close for my fogs.

WRXklr: What's the company? That's what I meant by "curious as to WHERE"... Is there a web site?
