It's fun to see how others do things. Nice work!

Thanks for the info. Would you have to do the vacuumeforming if you were going to use a shroud?

no not at all. thats just the method i chose to do. look at the headlight in my sig. thats w/o vacuforming. you can use anything for a shroud thats heat resistant, and round. its all up to your imagination. but remember one thing. cut alittle at a time, then test fit between each cut.

ok, cool. I was thinking about using the Apollo Shrouds. And if I screw those up then I can always vacuumeform. Thanks for the info again.

Here's a few suggestions...

Might want to mention what are you cutting that 22ga steel with? Shears, Dremel, Die Grinder w/ cutoff wheel etc... I use Lexan or Aluminum (gauge varies) as It's easier to cut & drill.

Are you getting that .08 plastic for vac forming at Lowes/ Home Depot? If so what size is the sheet? Might want to mention needing to cut it down to size so it fits your frame & into the oven.

What HP vacuum are you using? Could make a difference on people's results.

I use 26 gauge steel that I cut with a shear. If you bend a 1/8" bead up around the edge it becomes about as stiff as can be. There's no need to use the heavier gauge stuff, as it tends to eat cutoff wheels up (22g is too thick for a shear to cut through).
