i dont mean to be bias...but new york will wipe the floor with whoever it is they are playing with.
Why is this the general consensus? The Phillies offense is = or > than the Yankees, and in the playoffs the Phillies bullpen has been great (including Lidge).
Anyone who says the Yankees will "wipe the floor with whoever (Phillies included)" is retarded, ignorant, and doesn't know jack shit about the game of baseball.

dude what? the phillies offense is < yankees offense. go look at numbers.
runs, batting average, slugging, on base, home runs, i know for a fact the phillies dont lead in ANY of these statistics.

I'm looking at the numbers and they don't vary greatly, the only two that the Yankees have a considerable advantage in is avg and runs scored (that's what happens when you have a DH), and if you break down individual player stats, the Phillies have more "standout" offensive players in Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Raul Ibanez, Jayson Werth (not including Jimmy Rollins because he had somewhat of an off-season but he is still an MVP winner so you can't leave him out)...and did you even account for base running? Look at the amount of stolen bases.
All of that, and the Phillies don't have a DH. You throw a pitcher into the Yankees lineup and it's a COMPLETELY different ball game...
Again, which is why I said they are =, if not the Phillies >.

no, you're wrong dude.
yes ur team has good bats i know. 3 guys have over 30 home runs or something like that.
the yankees have 7 people with 20 or more home runs. they are balanced up and down top to bottom on that line up card.
arod or texiera > howard
because of the batting average thing.
go down the lineup and match them up, without being biased.
i HATE the yankees dude. but you cannot say they arent the best in baseball.

arod or texiera > howard? wrong He led the majors in RBIs (tied with Prince Fielder) and was 2 shy from leading in home runs. I'll take his bat over Alex Rodriguez post-juice and Texiera now. They definitely are more balanced, I agree with you on that (Pedro Feliz and Carlos Ruiz really kill our lineup sometimes, even though they've been more clutch than Big Papi in 2004 as of late.) . However, if you take the DH out of the Yankees lineup it's a completely different ballgame.

i dont care if he led the league in HR and RBI.
on base % > *
more guys on base = mor runs all around.
ide much rather have a balanced line up than 1 or 2 sluggers.
and if u take the DH out of the lineup who do you lose? matsui or nick swisher or damon.
pick your poison that lineup is STILL better than phillies.
pitching is about the same in starting lineup..
and imo both bullpens SUCK, ut the edge is the closer which the yankees have.

it will be a good series for sure.
During the year, yes, I would rather have a more balanced lineup no shit more, consistent hitters = more wins. In something like a 7 game series, I'll take Howard's ability to drive in runs (because the people in front of him get on base) over Texiera's and ARod's OBP.
And you don't understand what I'm saying about taking the DH out of the lineup. I could care less who's numbers your removing from the Yankees. Look at what it does to the rest of the game strategy wise. You can pitch around the 8 hitter to get to the pitcher in a tough situation, with no one on base and 2 outs you can pitch to the 8 hitter so the pitcher leads off the next inning. Those are just two brief examples that a lot of people do not account for when including the DH in a lineup.
