Default Who knows about HD video on your PC?

At first I couldnt play 720p or 1080p video on my PC properly. It would literally run at like 1 - 2 frames per second. I installed the K-Lite Mega Codec pack (and VLC Player) and it still didnt fix it..... at first. After a couple hours of me not doing anything, it just started working properly.

Well, recently it just went stupid again. I try to play Superbad (720p) and it literally says 0.xx frames per second. Ill get like one image every couple of seconds, but the audio runs fine. Same thing with I Am Legend (1080p) and Resident Evil (1080p). I think most are .MKV files (if that matters) and Legend is .TS files. I dont know what to do.

If anyone can help you, youll need to post your system specs... you need a preatty fast machine to play HD video smoothly.

Quad-core Phenom cpu, 2GB 533MHz RAM, HIS Radeon HD 3850 PCIe card.

I know it can run it properly, it has before. It just wants to be a bastard now. I think its the codecs.... I installed a different codec pack and it runs better (almost full framerate) but not smoothly as before...

Phenom? Sorry to hear that. jk.

I would stay away from the codec packs. I'm really suprised that VLC isn't playing it good

I KNEW I was gonna get crap about that.

Yea, I usually use VLC for everything video. It has worked properly before but now its just being a laggy bitch (along with Media Player Classic and Zoom). I got Zoom to play the .TS files properly, but most of my movies have the .MKV extension.......

I honestly don't know what to tell you. All the hardware is there (sorta) and VLC plays everything perfect for me. Maybe try a different version
