we held a viper dyno day not to long ago and I played with one making 780 with a supercharger and built motor (note: not making the numbers he was capable of making...1200 plus) and he didnt pull on me a bit. i was making 360 at the time. dont 4get powerband, traction, and gearing plays a big factor with them.
that is so sad for the viper!!! 780rwhp and couldnt pull on a 360hp srt-4. either he wasnt making that number or you were making way more than 360 or the driver of the viper didnt have a bit clue what he was doing. fact is fact, a 780rwhp should not have any trouble just walking away from a 360fwhp srt-4.
I have pulled on 3 stgs 3 srt-4s with all the toys on race gas. one was making 380fwhp, other was making 385fwhp and the other one said he didnt know but he would assume to be around 380fwhp as well. and I had a 455rwhp heavy ass full weight cobra. 3 cars to 385fwhp one, 4-5 cars to 380fwhp one and surprisingly the other one who said he didnt know his numbers was like 1,5-2 cars behind but he is known as a very good driver.
so 780rwhp blown viper losing to 360fwhp srt-4 doesn't sound right. not calling BS, just saying something is wrong!
Ok ther are some reputable forum mebes in on this one and most of the time I dont get into this stuff cause I dont street race but have gone to some. Heres my take: When the big dogs in an area go out to race there is always a video camera and most of the time there are multiple. There is a vid of this out there some where and that will shut people up. If the 800hp ST was "out" for the first time on a C16 tune then there is vids, and a 1200 hp viper has vids. Lets see the vids so we can say nice race or call BS.

we are not talking about "Chris" we are talking about a 800whp srt-4. when you are out racing especially big with big power cars, you make sure to get it on tape. I even posted on svtp that "make sure to get it on tape" before they left but no videos?
to be honest, if i would have kept up with a 1200hp car with my 800hwp car with sh*tty aerodynamics. I would not say anything at all over the internet without video. cuz you will get nothing but BS and you should relaize that it was just some kind of luck cuz you shouldnt be as fast as one. I beat a freaking ford GT with my bolts on cobra and nobody knows anything about that race cuz i shouldnt be able to beat that car.
this srt-4 may be fast but it ain't nowhere near as fast as a 1200rwhp viper. also don't forget this thing is making 800whp with a FWD. we all see 800+ full weight rwhp RWD cars loosing traction on the streets like nothing even at high rolls, so I dont expect a FWD hooking with that much power unless it is a petty high roll.
also whats up with that dude saying " I COULD BARELY SEE THEIR TAILLIGHTS" ?? Bullsh*t!! ok i relaize both cars being redicilously fast but give me a freaking break you could barely see their taillights. you drive a 450fwhp srt-4 not a 90hp civic. a 1200rwhp ford GT raced a KB cobra here and i was right behind them with a 455rwhp cobra which only trapped 123mph and I could see the GT very easily. he was probably 20-25 cars ahead when i hit 140mph.
anyway 1200rwhp viper > ANY srt-4 on the roads or track!

im sure its in the works but word of the race got out before the vid. Give it time im sure chris has it handled, hasnt let us down yet and hes not one to bragg about stuff he cant show proof of anyways so we have no worries. Notice he said he loves threads like this one and that its his car. Straight to the point yet simple
That is nowhere near the norm. Impressive to be able to go that fast at all, but it's far from ordinary. Far from a speed you'll see 99.9999% of SRT's come close to reaching. I don't think it applies in this situation with a Viper that should easily outclass the SRT anyway.
My point wasn't to show that the srt4 can or would out class a Viper because I know better. Just to point out the aerodynamics and gearing, given enough HP the SRT4 is very capable. With the right tires, properly setup suspension and 700+ consistent HP the little car can dish out some serious toxins of its own. In the end I would rather have the 1200HP Viper though.
