The attack apparently happened at the Soldier Readiness Center.
Army personnel say they are not certain whether the victims are civilians or military personnel.
The Fort Hood public affairs spokesman said the Army is setting up a special operations center to handle the response.
The official base Web site has posted a message that it is on lock down and in an emergency situation. It also urged people to stay indoors.
Nine schools on the base -- seven elementary and two middle -- are included in the lock down.

I assume it was illegal to conceal carry there? It was where I was stationed, I'm not sure if that's a base rule or a military wide rule. Still proves that if more people carried shit like this wouldn't get as bad as it did. With that many people around, I'm sure one would carry if he/she could and they would have ended it quick.

The main shooter was a medical doctor. He was in the study
of traumatic stress. He wasn't supposed to be carrying. Rest
assured, they will use this as a reason to start banning all
firearms. If a medical doctor of psychiatry can snap...
I'm at work right now on lock down along with the hole post. There some many stories right now. But the last I heard was 3 shooters, 1 killed who was a army major who converted to Islam on his last deployment............

My two oldest kids are at the wife's cousins in Belton and my oldest son is still on lock down at his school. They just launched an Apache with FLIR (forward looking infa red) camera...........
