As most of you know, bought this setup in August...
55" LG LCD TV
Yamaha 750 watt receiver
Klipsch speakers
Everything has been awesome, till about a week ago...
Was watching football last weekend and suddenly started having issues with the television sound not matching the receiver sound, so it sounded like a bad echo going on. I can turn off the television sound (mute) and go with the receiver sound only, which is what I normally do, but this has never happened before.
Having a 2 year old at home all day, I don't know if she pushed a button somewhere or if this is some actual problem, it appears to be related to the television itself, when I switch channels sometimes it goes away, but sometimes it starts again or gets worse.
I have the sound output from the television using HDMI direct into the receiver.
Any thoughts?

Weird. Mine has always done that. I just have the volume at 0.

So, your reciever's sound along with the surround sound speakers are dead on, but the internal speakers on the tv are off? If so, just a better reason to not screw up your sound quality by having your tv's internal speakers on.
Is there a time delay setting on the reciever??
I know some receivers have a time correction setting to delay sound of some speakers so that all the sound reaches you at the same time
try going back through the settings on the receiver and see if the kid pushed any fun little blinky buttons

I think mine is because my cable box is ran into the TV via HDMI, and the receiver is via component cables (old unit, I don't have a choice). If RT's is different, then maybe there is hope for me.
haha, yah that wouldn't cost me a freaking arm and a leg.
I have to figure out how to use this receiver better anyway, it is an awesome piece of electronics but it isn't all that easy to use
They arent supposed to be easy to use lol
its the heart and soul and a home theatre setup so in reality it should be THE most complicated piece of equipment you own
