For those that don't know us, here's a thread that'll help explain who we are, what we do, as well as give some general info on the products we fabricate.
MAXX Fab is a quality fabricator of custom exhaust components for the Dodge SRT-4 and PT Cruiser Turbo.
We currently offer a range of quality O2 housings, down pipes and/or complete exhaust systems for the Dodge SRT-4 which are made exclusively from American made stainless steel tubing. We also offer down pipes for the PT Cruiser Turbo. MAXX Fab exhaust system/dp’s are custom built to customer specs, so you can choose the features you want in an exhaust system.
Our prices are some of the most competitive in the industry and we don't think you should have to spend a lot of money to get a quality component and great customer service. We know what it takes to keep the customer happy. That's why we offer a 5 year warranty on all MAXX Fab exhaust components. All MAXX Fab components are faricated by an aircraft sheet metal/structures/powerplant machanic with 15 years experience and carries ASW certification.
More SRT-4 race teams rely on MAXX Fab exhaust components than any other exhaust manufacturer. That racing experience has gone straight into the development of MAXX Fab exhaust components.
We were chosen by four time One Lap of America class winner Dale Seeley and the Lake Effect Racing team to build several components for their winning 2004 SRT-4 One Lap racing car for the 2004 and 2005 events. This race is a test of durability for both the car and the parts so it was on honor to be chosen by Lake Effect Racing for the 2004/2005 seasons. MAXX Fab will be providing exhaust for at least three 2006 One Lap entries.
If your intersted in high quality components at a reasonable price, contact us. We'd love to help you with your perfomance goals.
Congratulations goes out to the MAXX Fab sponsored cars of Dale Seeley and Dunnie Morgan. Dale Seeley, Kolin Aspergren, Jamin Cummings won their class and came in 8th overall out of 96 cars. Dunnie Morgan, Todd Eberline, Mijodrag Kologranic finished 59th overall in their first time out, an outstanding accomplishment in the tough One Lap event. Both cars choose the MAXX Fab Side Exit Exhaust for the 2005 One Lap of America.
MAXX Fabrication is also proud to announce Snyder Motorsports has chosen a MAXX Fab Side Exit Exhaust for their 2005 Speed Channel Would Turing Car Championship SRT-4. They're racing in a very competitive division, so it was an honor to be chosen for their exhaust needs.
MAXX Fab was also chosen by Sport Compact Car magazine to provide several components for their project SRT-4.
MAXX Fab Exhaust Components
MAXX Fab Down Pipes With Weld on Adapters
MAXX Fab dps are the longest lasting, most reliable dps made for the SRT-4.
MAXX Fab dps:
Feature Magnaflow Hi-Flow cats (other cats such as Random Technology cats avail upon request)
Are made from thicker 16 ga mandrel bent 304 stainless steel tubing (others are thinner 18 ga material)
Have superior quality American made flex joints with interlinear (other use non lined imported flex joints). These are the smoothest flowing, most durable flex joint used on any SRT dp
Are avail to fit the stock cat back, the Mopar cat back in two ways (with the stock 2.25 inch reducer, or the freer flowing 2.5 inch reducer), or 3 inch exit for custom applications.Come with install instructions
Include 2 O2, one bung for the OEM O2 sensor and a second for an aftermarket wideband. An O2 bung is also included to plug the second bung if not needed
Have a 5 year warranty
MAXX Fab O2 housings
MAXX Fab O2 housings are the best designed O2 housings avail for the SRT. They feature a MAXX Fab exclusive bracket that allows you to reuse the factory bracket that connects the O2 housing to the engine block at two points (see the “SRT-4 Exhaust For Dummies” thread for more info). This bracket isolates exhaust movement, and transfers that movement to the engine block, just as Dodge intended.
The bracket on the MAXX Fab O2 housing is welded to the thick ½ inch thick discharge flange. This means exhaust system movement travels from the exhaust to the discharge flange, into the bracket, then to the engine block. Other O2 housings weld a standoff to the thinner tubing. This means the exhaust system movement travels from the exhaust to the discharge flange (only 3/8 thick in most cases), through the thinner tubing, then to the engine block. If you’ve ever seen an exhaust hanger break off and take a chunk of tubing with it, you’ll know why attaching the bracket to the tubing is an inferior design when compared to the MAXX Fab O2 housing.
MAXX Fab O2 housings are made from 304 stainless steel and have the dp attachment hardware welded to the discharge flange. This makes install of the dp a snap. MAXX Fab O2 housings also include metric dp mounting hardware (including conical locking nuts just ike Dodge uses), installation instructions and 3 inch diameter gasket (which is supplied by Dodge…not some cheap aftermarket gasket).
O2 housings are avail for the stock or Stage 3 turbo. The O2 housing for S3 is expanded at the inlet to allow unobstructed flow from the larger discharge of S3 manifold, and has the correct mounting flange machined for a perfect fit.
MAXX Fab O2 housings also come with a 5 year guarantee.
Exhaust Systems
Modified Borla/Mopar cat back
On a car with 3 inch O2 housing, running 18-19 psi, the 3 inch down pipe/Borla combination made the same horsepower as a 3 inch turbo back at 266 HP and 301 TQ, and has shown a 24 hp gain over the stock exhaust.
We decided to enhance the Mopar/Borla cat back systems performance by adding a three inch down pipe to make it a complete system, and making it a bolt on application that can easily be installed on jack stands with common hand tools.
We eliminate the 2.25 inch bottle neck in the Borla system, and attach the down pipe to the larger 2.5 inch section of the intermediate pipe. This increases the performance of the entire system by increasing the flow area by 19%!!!
The Mopar cat back is 2.5 inch mandrel bent stainless steel, features a 4 inch resonator and beautiful chrome dual tips. This makes the MAXX Fab modified Mopar exhaust the perfect choice for those that want an affordable stainless steel, dual tip, turbo back system.
All modified Borla cat-back systems include two O2 sensor bungs and one O2 sensor bung plug in the down pipe. This allows for the installation of an aftermarket wideband O2 sensor.
MAXX Fab Side Exit Exhaust
The MAXX Fab side exit exhaust was specifically developed for those that wanted a free flowing lightweight exhaust that exits in front of the driver’s side rear wheel, but with a smooth exhaust note that will allow the car to be driven on the street.
The systems features 16 ga 3 inch mandrel bent stainless tubing for long life, flanged joints, and a hand fabricated/formed tailpipe section with a 1.75 high x 5 inch wide polished oval tip that fits tight to the rocker panel.
It fits tighter to the chassis than any other side exit……lowered cars need not worry the exhaust will cause any interference problems.
This is the highest quality side exit system made for the SRT and has withstood many track days and race events around the US. Race teams favor this exhaust because of its light weight and durability under harsh racing conditions.
Don't be fooled by other exhaust systems that look like the MAXX Fab system...they are cheaper aluminized material (will rust from the inside out), don't fit as well (tip comes out at an angle pointing toward the ground instead of fitting tight against the rocker), and have slip fit joints held together with cheap crush clamps...if you've ever need to disassemble the system, you'll have to cut it off.
In comparison, The MAXX Fab SEE is:
Stainless (will never rust out)
Uses higher quality flex joints (the highest quality used on any SRT exhaust)
Fit better
Features flanged joints for easy assembly/disassembly
Comes with installation instructions.
You Get What You Pay For
When it comes to SRT exhaust components, quality is more important than you might think. An improperly designed/built part made of cheap material can cause extensive damage.
Take a look at the following picture:
This is an O2 housing that failed. Failures like this have caused damage to hoses and wiring between the engine and the firewall on the SRT-4, and create a strong risk of an engine fire. Don't let this happen to you. Do it once, do it right.
