Feel free to submit a proposal for the 2007 Nationals. It's not too early to start planning, I'll just need some basic information.

Look through the current SRT Nationals website, and write down all of the changes that will be needed to host the event at another site. The big stuff is easy to nail down, like the track and hotel, but don't forget about the smaller, more fluid stuff like the banquets, the dyno, the SCCA, insurance, and other stuff.

I look forward to receiving your report as soon as possible, thank you for volunteering to head up the event for us next year.

Regards,
Dale

I know that California would be a much better location then Kansas.. I think there are about 10 SRT-4's in the entire state.

That's the beauty of a National event over a typical local meet. If you want to see the same ten (or hundred) as you saw last week, or hang out in the same Starbucks, or Dealership parking lot, the local meets are for you.

If you want Turn One Motorsports hosting a high performance driving event, prize money drag racing, autox on the National competition surface, a three day show, banquets and parties, a place to bring the kids, and if you want to compare your work to the best work of those traveling from all over the continent, then the SRT Nationals is for you.

You had an opportunity to host the event in California, but you were lazy and didn't step up to do the work. Kansas isn't exactly in my backyard either, or SPCForkers, or the guys in Maryland, or the guys in Texas, or the guys in Arizona, or the guys in Chicago.... If you want it in California in 2007, start doing the work now sao it can be considered a legitimate proposal. The people that want it further East are already working on their proposal.

The people who drive in from California will be taken well care of, we have a few already registered. That's a lot more than were registered last year. If I could convince a large percentage of Californians to show up in 2006, it would make the case for moving it further west in 2007 a lot easier for me to plead. As it stands, Californian support is still fairly low, there's still plenty of time though, and it makes zero sense to even consider hurting the event by moving it further west.

It's not going to be in California in 2006, it could have been, but nobody in California, or anywhere else, really wanted that to happen. That's a dead topic for 2006. Plan for 2007 by becoming a part of 2006.

Regards,
Dale

Seeing as SRTOC is considering Chapters of the club, there should be regional meets as well as national meets in the future.

FL or CA's regoinal meet could possibly be bigger than the national meet?

Props to Dale for setting this one up! I know I don't have the time or resources to set one up.

for fucks sake people, we are not starting this shit again.

All you cali people need to realize not all SRT-4's are in california. Topeka is about as close to the geographical center of the continental U.S as possible.

It's a national meet, not a regional or state meet. Get over it, its fair for everyone.

While I don't agree with the delivery, the message is correct. This event is bigger than any regional meet, we've got Turn One Motorsports bringing out the Comp Coupes for rides on Thursday. We've got the fastest cars from the Northeast ready to run the fastest cars from the West. We've got a dyno that nobody seems to have even heard of before, it's that advanced. And even more than all of that, we've got three days of enthsiasts doing what we do best, having one hell of a good time.

There's nothing wrong with a regional meet, but this is different, it's the real deal in event planning and promotion. We're spending more on this event than some people earn in a year. If you want it in your hometown in 2007, just present me with a plan, and we'll see what we can do. It's not too early to start planning, but the way it sits right now, Topeka is the right place to have this event for a long time to come. You may not realize it now, but that's just because the entire event hasn't been revealed yet. We're cutting deals every day, most regional events would be happy to get just one of them, but we're getting all of them.

The SRT Nationals may not be for everybody, it's for Mopar Enthusiasts.

Regards,
Dale
