pre-event safety inspection
I'm not clear on how this is supposed to work exactly. We need to have all these items to be verified, but by whom exactly? Is this basically state inspection-type stuff? Does it have to be a professional/certified mechanic to inspect? And everything on the list is going to be inspected again at the track before classes begin, right? If everything gets checked before sign-in, then does it really need to be checked before a person goes to the track? (Assuming you live dangerously and feel lucky about the car passing).
Not that I'm going to avoid having the car inspected, since I need the front alignment tweaked a bit and will be getting an oil change at the same time just before I leave for Nats. Since I'll take the car to the dealership for this I figure they should be able to do the pre-inspection as well. Sorry if the answers should be obvious to me already, but I'm a first-timer and totally new to this kind of thing. I'm trying to be crystal clear on all the details to minimize my risk of doing something incorrectly.
