People should start arriving between 10 and 10:30 am. I'll have a table set up where I'm easily seen and I'll have one or 2 volunteers helping me to check in everyone. At that time we'll be handing out everyone's t-shirts and the 1 free raffle ticket that everyone gets. More raffle tickets can be bought when you pick up your t-shirts or later on in the day.
A couple of people have mentioned to me that they may open up their homes to SRT-4 owners who are coming in from out of town. I commend them for doing so and they are free to post up their info in this thread and how to contact them.
Most hotels hold the credit card number until you check out, and then they ask how you want to pay. I'll try to find out for everyone this week. The rooms are cheap - only $40 something dollars for 2 beds. The host hotel is also within walking distance of Old Town.
Yes, there are bars all over the place, with some good ones in Old Town itself! We can do some bar hopping! I was just in your neck of the woods. My co-worker may give up his Boston Terrier for adoption so I brought my beagle over to his house to see if they get along. They got along really well so we'll see what happens.
keep in mind getting along on the other dogs turf isnt necessarily the same as getting along on your dogs turf...there might be some territorial issues for a little while while they adjust...it took Peanut a week before she wanted anything to do with Tink when we first brought her home...and the Basset still put the mastiff in her place!!!...haha
The hotel does not hold funds on your card until the time you check in.
When you check in they authorize your card for the amount of your stay plus some extra for incidental charges.
At check out you can either pay with your card and the authorazation from earlier becomes an actual charge or you can pay cash and the authorization on your card will be returned by the hotel immediatley, banks take anywhere from 3-30 days to return the deposit. In most cases its only 3 but I know of a few that are slow at returning authorzations.
Worked in the hotel industry most of my adult life...its how all hotels roll.
