Outer tie rod end was the problem. I talked to the 2 techs that I knew at Sears and told them the shitty experience I had at T. Plus. And to think the T. Plus manager told me after the 3rd time my car was there that it was the rack and pinion that needed to be replaced with a f'ed up estimate of $700. He "guaranteed" that the noise would go away after that. He had the nerve to call me this morning, asking if I wanted to bring my car in again. I remained calm (even though I wanted to yell at him), didn't tell him I took it to Sears, and said I would think about it and get back to him. What a bunch of BS. I will never go there again, even for an oil change.
Tires plus had my car for a total of around 15 hours over 3 different days and couldn't figure out the creaking.
Sears Auto Center had my car for 4.5 hours today, was able to identify the problem as soon as it was lifted, and also did an alignment for me.
The techs at Sears also invited me out to a local bar Sunday night, and I will be glad to buy them some beer for their excellent and HONEST service.
i haven't been on in a while, but i'm glad to hear that you can finally get your car fixed!!
Yates' car is down....chances are its the timing belt or something related to it. Hes already contacted a local shop about taking a look at it so i declined his offer to bring it to me so theres no drama/etc stemming from this. Wish him well...if anyone speaks to David over at RFR you can let him know that there are still a few people waiting to hear from him about stuff thats been pending mainly JSRT4 and Envious8.
