so who else is interested in road racing? i know i am but i'm tryin to find money and a BMWCCA school down here to get licensed.
you and I are from up north, nothing is straight and flat for us up there
as for the bmwcca events it was also recommended to me to do those by a friend in NY so as Ive been saying as soon as I get a job I'll be right there with you
man last night i was holding 16.5 lbs. Can't wait to buy a wastegate.
i want to get hard pipes! but anyway im buying my goldline springs today 109 + shipping from modern performance FTW
Hopefully you live where the roads are very nice. Goldlines = Blown shocks because of their extreme drop. Good Luck. Shocks are not cheap.
um i dont know, goldlines drop is only 1.5 inches. eiback and tein drops are way lower than that. plus we live in tampa im only on the highway with my car.

You're right the drop is 1.5" and well regardless of the spring you get, it isnt the best match for the stock struts anyway. Not saying they are going to break right away but its just something to think about for the future unless you get struts or sell for coilovers. but yes the tein and eibach have a lower drop than the goldlines
^^I didn't say it was going to happen right away. Theres other factors in the equation but the physics behind how the suspension works and the progressively wound shorter spring on a stock strut doesn't match up
OK, after reading more, it looks like the Chin Motorsports car club is easier to join. $50 for a 13 month membership. Events run about $200-$350 per day and NO PREVIOUS TRAINING is required. If it's your first time at an event you pay a $75 fee to have a mandatory expert instructor sit in with you for the day.
Here's an example of cars that participate: http://www.chinmotorsports.com/parti...st.asp?eid=184
yeah it will be more forgiving, and I'm sure you know how it works, but either way when they are operating at a rate that they aren't meant to that will put so much stress on them and then after a while, kiss them goodbye. Now if you had coilovers where you could make adjustments or shocks/struts that could handle the spring, well thats a different story. I mean for some people it might work, others it didn't or its a ticking time bomb. I just personally would not go or recommend that route It's like the 225's on the stock wheel issue. Will it work? sure, is it ideal? not so much.

^^true but what it comes down to is, is it worth it? do you want to take the chance? I certainly don't but my opinion will differ from everyone else as do my goals so I'm kind of killing 2 birds with 1 stone anyway I mean you get to a point when your car starts to break where you think it might be right just to not take shortcuts and avoid any potential headaches in the future, and that's what I'm beginning to see right now lol
^^same I'm even debating skipping the e1/manifold b/c it's so expensive and with me making around 310-315whp now anyway on a good tune without the turbo/mani touched then plus the FM mani and E1 I'm afraid will bump me up so much more that I start breaking my tranny and needing a new clutch and a new this and that. To me 300+ is a lot but I'm being greedy and unrealistic with my budget. I think I'll get some nice wheels, start working on the cosmetics and suspension and then get a nice camera so I can go take some sweet pictures lol
