i hit my knees sometimes too...but that's cause i sit up on the pedals & put the backrest back a bit so i'm not hugging the wheel.

Do not get a 600, for the love of God. You will regret it once you start to get good at riding. Also, make sure you sit on a yamaha before you praise them. R6's are not as bad but the R1's are horrible. The gas tank comes to a point and if you are well endowed (like me) you will speak like a woman. Gixxer's are the most common bike out there, but they are also the most comfortable. I have ridden a lot of bikes, and my favorites would be the CBR and GSX-R. A good way to talk yourself into a 1k bike is that the gsxr actually has a "map" changer type thing and you can actually take it down to a 600 or 750....helps a lot in the rain

i'ma have to disagree with you . I've riden an R1 for over a year, and have to say it was one of the most comfortable bikes I rode. I've ridden for years now, & have been on anything from bobbers, custom choppers (up 10 feet long), to harley's, & almost every size sport bike. Honda is horrible (the 07 I rode), I've been on a cbr600 (05), didn't like it to much. I've been on a busa, gsxr 1000 & 600...could not get comfortable. The new cbr600 isn't that bad, haven't sat on the new 1000. Oh, & i've ridden a ducati 749, extremely different & getting used to after coming off an inline 4. I've sat on the new gsxr 600 & 750, the 750 isn't that bad, but would still need getting used to. the new R1 sits a bit different, the tank seems to sit wider now, didn't like that move. I haven't sat or rode the new kawi 10r or 6r, so can't contribute on that.

My fav though, has to be the 1098...not for everyone, but after riding the 749 & wanting more power with how it handled, I actually liked it a lot.

I guess everyone has their own definitions of comfort I dont like the 07 honda's but the k7 gixxers felt like a glove to me. I haven't riddin a 1098 due to the fact that my friends and I are, for the most part, poor I LOVE the way the look though. Bikes have come a long way though. My friends K7 gixxer 1k scared the shit out of me. Roll on throttle through the first 3 gears would lift the front up. I hit 135mph in a matter of seconds....I miss my bike I had a 97' SRAD gsx-r 750, but to me it wasnt comfortable at all. Always found myself "fixin" myself at every red light

lol...i don't think i've had a bike scare me yet. even when i went WOT on the busa, i was at 105 i a heart beat with 2k left till redline. fast. my 01 zx9r was very comfy. loved that bike...just a straight up monster. comparing the r1 to the 9r, hell, the 9r was so, how do i put it, just there. there was no waiting for the power to kick in a high rpm. from upper low, mid, to top end it just PULLED. went on gandy one time, WOT, i happened to look down, 180 in 6th with a lot left on the tack. i was like oh shit I'm actually going this fast...cause for a moment, it didn't feel like it lol. only time i ever did that shit too. the r1, lacked the bottom end i wanted so bad, but made up on upper mid to top end....it just SCREAMED to be ridden hard. but both on acceleration, the 9r hands down. the r1 was more fun cause i could play around with the throttle and not worry so much about the rear coming out from underneath me.

bikes have come a long way...the liter bikes are getting as light as the 600's, & just getting more power. the slipper clutch was a very good thing they added on. and now all this 'traction control' crap, that in reality, has loop holes on how it works. either way, they're trying.

lol..now that i think of it...the time i went WOT on the r1...first gear, the front tire never saw the ground, it kept skipping, & shifted into 2nd, same thing till top of 2nd going into third, finally planted itself down lol...that was fun

Yea the yamaha is the v-tec of bikes. The r6 redlines at what, 18k rpms?? I would love to have a turbo'd R6. My friend has a turbo'd gsx-r 1k and he lifts it in every single gear. I always wanted a turbo's 04 cbr600 and i would just call it a day. Actually, when i get my car running, i have a few bikes i have to race.

you mmay not have ridden the ducatti 999s.

i was debating between the srt4 and a 749s. guess what i chose...

it would be hard to take a 3yearold from valrico to the stadium to day care there and back everydaY.
