Looking to make a move from my hometown here in Denver to the Ormond Beach/Dayton/Orlando area in the next 6 months or so, just looking to see if anyone lives in the area and has any info on jobs/housing, etc. I currently work for an Autonation dealership, so transfering down there is pretty easy, and I know their homebase is in Florida, but I can do just about anything, I learn and pick up anything very quickly.
My wife's mother already lives in the Ormond Beach area so we will be staying there for about 3 or so months, but we are going to be looking for permanent housing shortly there after.
Also interested to see if anyone has info or has had a vehicle transportated across the country before. I am going to need to have the SRT and the DD shipped across country, as I will not be driving them down there.
Any help is appreciated, leads are always welcome, anything helps.
Thanks

Ask yourself one question:
"When you turn your car on, does it return the favor?"

Well first off, I don't blame you. Denver to Florida is a LONG drive. I had my car transported from Dallas, TX to south FL almost a month ago. It was here in 24 hours. The only thing that I didn't do that I'm kicking myself for is not going with an enclosed trailer. It costs more, but it's safer that way from rock chips, weather, etc. To me, it's worth it, because I can't stand driving for that amount of time. Plus, you'll probably pay close to the transport fee by driving them because of the inflated gas prices.
well...i'd like to say...welcome to FL even though you're not here yet. As for jobs, things are rough, but if you can get a transfer or get hired ahead of time...even better. As for housing, there are plenty of places to live, but all matters on the area. Can't tell you exactly where to be honest. I live in the middle of Orlando & Daytona...so it's pretty quiet up here.
We are moving because we are tired of the huslte and bustle of denver....it has gotten so god damn expensive just to live (food, water, etc) and we are ready to start fresh somewhere else.
Her mother already lives in Ormond Beach and she really likes it, so it will be a good start.
I am going to try and transfer internally, I just have to make sure the job can support my finances that I am making here.
I have gotten shipping quotes around 900 bucks from door to door, but I am still looking.
We can't wait to move, its going to be a big transition, but I am ready for some beach time...and cruisin just about everyday of the year!!!
