Default Hurricane Charlie: Tampa Bay bracing for a direct hit.....

I worked a 10 hour day today to get off and realize why everyone was freaking out. In the 9 years ive lived in Tampa Bay i have yet to see an actual storm blow straight over us. As of right now it is forecasted to make landfall in our backyard (pun intended) sometime around 2pm Friday.....that is Pinellas County Florida or St. Petetersburg/Clearwater. SoloII, his wife and i have decided that our evacuation location is no longer worth making the trek to as it is also in the path of the storm. We live far enough from the water to not be required to evacuate but basicAlly today the apt complex left us a nice lil notice about their hurricane policy, . yeah good luck everyone here

Leave now for NOPI, stay in sun Palm Beach County

All kidding side, hope all of you in the TB area prepare well for the storm. not sure the storm will do much except releave you of your power. Last mild TS/Hurricane to hit Palm Beach knocked out my power for 3 days. Good luck

its 1030am.....St Pete Beach is 75% evacuated and pretty much looks like a ghost town. Traffic out of Pinellas County (St. Pete/Clearwater) on the 4 major bridges (Sunshine Skyway, Gandy, Howard Frankland and Courtney Campbell) is beginning to clear up with fewer and fewer people headed back in. Hillsborough County (Tampa/Brandon) has ordered mandatory evacuation of most of the South Tampa peninsula which includes a 100% evacuation of MacDill AFB which is home of Central Command and US Central Command. Tampa's entire police force is currently on duty and have estimated the number of those needing to evacuate at 300,000+

Right now i just heard the TV set behing me clearly states that after 11am today the Pinellas Sherrif Department will limit access to barrier islands. Those being Clearwater Beach, Bellair Beach, Indian Rocks, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St Pete Beach, Isla Del Sol, Tierra Verde and Fort Desoto State Park.

Gas is running low in our area with gas stations having no prices shown as they dont want the signs to blow away. Price guoging is prevelant with one gasd station nearby selling small bottles of water at $5 a bottle. Most of those who evacuated my area are headed east towards orlando as all Polk County hotels are reporting no vacancies so i take it Disney/Kissimme area will be inundated with tampa area residents. I went over to my mom's to help her sand bag her house and secure some items. Good luck you guys and for those who wish pray do so.

I myself am concerned about the current movement of the storm mainly because its forecasted to direct hit our area BUT it is starting to move slowly east northeast which would bring it a little south of tampa putting Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte county areas on high alert as it could very possibly hit there...Wilrace, ayat, Srt4ya, Riven, Relentless, BustaPR84 and those other SW FL srt4 owners i will pray for your safety as you guys to wait to hear if its headed your way or ours...l8r
