Default Help With McCords Powerplate!

I recently bought a needswings d/p and a e-cutout. D/p works just fine but i can't get the pp to work. I tried getting power from the side airbag. When i thought i was done and started my car, my airbag light was on and the pp wont open/close. I thought maybe since the airbag light is on it cut the power to the airbag and therefore not giving any power to the pp. I'm in the west Central Florida. Any local help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I would definitely suggest trying a better power source. Try running it directly to the battery if you just want to test it out first. Maybe use the fuse panel so you don't risk messing up the airbag/system.

I'll try a better power source. But yesterday i did try putting it straight to the battery but it kept blowing fuses. I went through 3 fuses in no time. Does it matter where in the fuse panel i connect the power source to? Thanks

Thanks. I rewired the power and it works! The motor is really slow when it closes but other than that its fine. My airbag light is still on. Don't know how to get rid of it. I'll try to get another power source for it because i dont think the wire that was on there works!

No...No...No... Don't rewire the airbag! You can cause them to blow if you give it power. My friend almost killed himself when he wired his alarm himself and tapped into one of the airbag wires giving it power.

Well how would they blow if i dont have them? It's the sensor for the side airbags and i dont have side airbags. How can i get rid of the light?

My apologies, I didn't understand that it was the sensor for the side airbags. It's been my experience that when that light is on, only the dealer can turn it off. (usually a bad idea because they will try to void your warranty) You might want to try going to Autozone and see if they will code scan the car and see if they can reset/clear the code that is causing the light.

Yeah i got power from the fuse box. Not sure which fuse but it shouldn't matter should it?
I'll try discount auto parts or zone to see if they can clear it. Thanks

just to be safe, put it in the # 2 fuse. it is for the wiper motors and it is a swithced on power.
