so finch who has the talon and the 4 door mirage has been telling me to try this thing he puts on the wastegate to hold it shut and it should hold around 18-19 pounds (supposedly the same as buying a better wastegate). I was thinking about trying it 2 passes this runday sunday. what do you guys think about it? anyone want to go out to the track on this sunday for runday sunday?
Unless you have an upgraded PCM or map clamp your going to either catch fuel cuts of pull timing or both on that many pounds... so its pointless.
Get an SAFC or stage 1 pcm and youll be in good shape, also i wouldnt fk with the stock waste gate it has a 4pound spring, get an AGP, youll notice a tremendous differance just on stock boost because it wont bleed boost

its adjustable, so ill set it at 17, even 3 pounds of boost more i should beable to break into high 8's. im probably going up to lowes tomorrow to get the parts which are normally like 8 bucks but i can get a discount because my friend works there so its going to cost me maybe 5 bucks total. i was told it does the same thing an agp wastegate would do, but i cant afford the price for this shit brand new so if might as well try this. but if anyone has a stage 1 pcm or agp wastegate let me know, or a cold/ram air.
dont waste money on stage 1 its not needed unless your 03

dude dont waste your money on that shit get an AGP and run it from tback of the turbo... the reason the one i sold garret with the ptp spring never worked cause he had a boost controller run into it... get a/i w/g simple shit and you will feel a huge difference from stock
dont do it dude, that is so shitty. finch tried to do that for me with my first srt 4. shit is weak. you can pick up a wastegate cheap on the for sale section.

Thats a good start. You should look into an intercooler after that. Oh and idk if garret told you also that he has an intercooler that only 2 people in FL have. Hes full of shit lol. He told a kid i know that and i wanted to seriously slap him silly. That garret kid sounds like a retard.
yeah i pm'd some guy in orlando thats selling his srt to see if he wanted to see his intercooler. garrett never told me only 2 people in florida had that intercooler only thing i know is it was an xspower and they went out of business. probably going to order the intake and wastegate tomorrow.
i got a kenetics wga ill sell u for 65 bills.... and stage 1 isnt a waste of money... its the best pcm to tune with... no gay check engine lights or overboost codes... i made 305whp on a stock turbo with the correct supporting mods... if u wanna make good power and run low times do it the right way... not a ghetto spring on the wastegate arm.... yeah it might be cheaper but i deff dont reccomend it... u gotta pay to play man... u need to read arron neons thread on 300whp... he breaks it down to all the mods u need.... i followed his list and it put me a lil over 300... if u want ill take some time and go over ur car with u so u know what is what and give u some ideas on parts to buy.... i hate seeing a srt owner turn into a ricer
