Well.. Motor was pulled out this morning.. more details tonight when he get's it taken apart... 3 weeks.. and the motor is finaly out.. hell when I gave it to him all it had on it was the axle & motor mounts left to pull... sigh.
Valve stem seals or turbo seals. If the longer it idles the more it smokes then it's more than likely the valve stem seals. It's caused by the amounts of vacuum seen at idle. Welcome to the club haha. I'm finally going to get around to fixing mine in the next few weeks.
after 3 weeks of waiting my motor is out of the car.. at least I think it is.. when we were on the phone an as he was saying its out... i overheard in the background "" we still have to get the axles out.. "" So who knows.. but the cherry on top is the fact that he tells us that now he has some other ""smaller"" jobs to do... So i'm really getting pissed off...
Hahaha dude don't even act like I'm on that much of a level above you or even a level above you. We are just on different levels and that is all. You are on the baller level Mr. stage 64 clutch.
Don't do it! Those things are hard enough to get to seal the first time.
so buy a new one? mine didnt really seal too well im thinking because i drained a little bit of oil last night and it was really tan colored. fuck. so my DCR is garbage now? in the FSM it dosent say to use a gasket sealant. is it ok if i use the copper gasket sealant on it?
I tried everything I could with the DCR ones and never could get it to seal. First I tried the high temp paint they recommend in the install instructions and torqued to 85 ft-lbs and it leaked oil. I tried it again with copper gasket spray and 85 ft-lbs and the oil just leaked on the opposite side. I ended up going with a stock one with gasket spray and torqued to 100 ft-lbs. My block and head were both decked and I checked just to make sure and they were both in fact perfectly straight. If I were to try it again I would do atleast 100 ft-lbs and the gasket spray but I got kind of tired of pulling everything apart only for it to leak again. I now have 190 psi compression in all 4 cylinders with the stock headgasket.
Ahh i think itsmy turn to have a problem. I was about 100 miles outside of crestview on my way to Jacksonville and broke a cv joint on I10. Just unloaded car off of the tow truck and Im back home now. /end rant.
