Default drown srt please help!!

Okay on friday july 2 i flooded my engine driving home from work. It has been takin to the dealership to either have the engine rebuilt/replaced. I have ordered stage 1. First question if they replace the block is stage one still going to work since it is designed for the vin of the car. Second whats a good shop to take my car after she is out who can look over my car make sure they did everything to standard (somewhat reasonable price too). Im already getting raped because i figure she will never be the same. But on a another note man this car has design flaw for water the puddle i drove through was ankle deep ya its water but the car was designed to be released in florida my first ever complaint (Julie i still love you) <---thats her name

Please advise

you drove through a water puddle ankle deep and flooded your engine? wow.

did you have modifications to the car, like having it lowered, CAI, etc?

Indeed, there is no way to hydrolock the engine in ankle-deep water. It would require water to the bottom of your headlight to hydrolock a motor with the stock airbox.

Regarding stage 1, the only thing that cares about your VIN is the Sentry Key system. As long as they don't replace the computer, key reader in the steering column or your keys, you should be fine. Besides, a tech with a DRB tool can easily reconfigure your Stage 1 if they decided to replace the aformentioned parts.

no the water was only ankle deep i know i had to get out in the rain to push it. there was allot of traffic so other cars were driving splashing me but it really was ankle deep. Allot of people keep saying it had to be deeper but it wasnt.

Umm... how fast were you going when you hit the water? I think it is possible that if you entered the water at a pretty good clip, hoping to just drive through it, and didn't lift, that you could have managed to get enough water up there to hydrolock it... It's still not a design flaw though, it's driver error in judgement.

I guess the important questions are, in your opinion, what is "ankle deep"? Is that top of the ankle, bottom of the ankle, barefoot, or with your six-inch heels on?

oh top of my ankle barefoot. In addition i am not complaining as much as i am venting. I love my car for the first 4 months I have had her. This is the first and only problem i have had and even this one is going to be fixed. I have never had to put a car in the shop to have something rebuilt so im really nervous that im gonna be paying for something for awile that wont run right. I just hope this works out so i can get of this POS ford focus rental and back to my car hopefullly running just like before. And if my stage one will work then all this will be is lesson to stay at work when its raining real hard.

one day i was pulling onto base. we had rain the day before hand and i noticed there was some water past the gate. so i didn't think anything of it... looked like the pavement was just wet. so with both windows rolled down in my pajamas(3am)i ran through a good 1 feet of water but its ok i guess because most of it landed on me and not the car...

I have driven in deeper water then that with my K&N CAI on and not done anything to the car that must have been very bad luck.

That is why I am so afraid of any intake. I remember when I was looking at SRT 4s, I went to Rivera Dodge and I saw a red one sitting in the service area. When I asked the sales guy he told me that the car had been sitting there for a few months, that some girl just drove it into a puddle and she didn't have the money to fix it so it was just sitting there.

I went to the shop yesterday and sure enough my car was not alone. A black one sitting right next to it with the same problem.

Well they made the decision today as to what they are gonna do. They ordered a new engine and a new turbo and few other parts. They ordered them today they say the 28th i should have old julie back man do i miss her, im stuck driving this POS Focus man i hate that car but hey it only needs 87 octane. And to the comment about the intake i think I may order the AEM CAI. But my question is which would u people get first WGA or intake that is the question.
