stock intake with box off = short ram.. cheap an works fine. if you dont like the short ram then get another cheap pipe to ext it down.. still add it all up = cheaper then CAI

If you're not making a lot of power the stock intake will do just fine

I'm running an AEM Cold Air on my car right now, and i have no problems with it. Car seems a lil more spunkier in cold weather

I've always said, you get what you pay for...

Intakes make almost no difference on an SRT4 or turbo car for that matter anyway. Unless there was some big restriction in the stock intake, the turbo will suck in as much as it can anyway. It doesn't matter if the air is colder or not, the turbo is hot anyway and a few degrees won't gain you any power.

because short ram is cheaper and does the exact same thing. Also with cai's, ive sucked up water before which was real scary for about five minutes. i still prefer the cai though, i dont really have a reason why.

I rebuilt a motor for a guy whose girlfriend drove the car through water 1 foot deep...his CAI sucked in water and bent the rods.

I'm still running the stock box on my latest SRT-4. Do recommend leaving it on, taking it completely off and putting some sort of filter/screen on the turbo, or doing what RobFlame05 said, remove the box? Thanks.

I'm running a huge turbo. I've always thought about making a 4" short ram and moving the battery to the trunk, but I've always been so busy I've never gotten around to it. Now I'm selling the car, so the stock turbo and stock airbox are going back on.

If I were you, I would save my money on other mods, until you decide to upgrade from the stock turbo. If you absolutely hate the stock airbox, buy a short ram and call it a day.

You can just take off the stock air box.. then you will have a short ram.. Get a hoseclamp or ziptie to keep the filter on the pipe and poof... $1.oo short ram intake

I have a CAI that can be run as a short ram. I don't feel any difference between the two. Might notice a few ponies on a dyno, but its negligible. Not worth the risk for me in storm-prone Central FL to run a CAI. Puddles get very deep, very fast in certain parts of Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater.

I prefer the short ram over stock box because it clears out a lot of space in the engine bay, and it's easier to access things.
