I should be like a veteran 100 but i kept getting banned back in the day lol.12.8 at 109 on my everyday street tires and 7.9 at 89 on slicks. all with the Mopar rice plate leaking to 10psi !!!!! Fight on for the movement!
Having a 11 second SRT is going to be fun but it will only be an 11 second car on a special tire. On street tires it will be worthless until 3rd gear. The driveline durability isn't going to be very good. The fuel system that would be required to run 11's is going to be prett healthy so mileage isn't going to be great, I'd guess around low 20's. One thing I have learned over the years is setting a goal(whatever it may be) never gets followed. As soon as you run an 11 then you'll be looking for that 11.7, next thing you know you've got the engine pulled out and you're building it to go 10's.
The Cobra can knock down 20 mpg and can run 11's with basic bolt-ons on a street tire. There is way more potential left in it even as a 11 second car. In other words it will be barely working to achieve your goal.
The 03/04 Cobra is the only car I would get rid of the SRT for at this time.
My only 2 cents is, I've owned 2 mustangs, a 99 Gt and a 2002 Gt, although the cobra has a stronger tranny, and a better motor..mustangs in general are done after 80,000 miles. The srt4 will most likely be around still and be running strong. Slow4dr is absolutely right about modding though, the cobra is "cheaper" to mod to get to 11s, hella fast and just plain awesome, probably my favorite car really.., but you start out at $35,000 or more for the car..when you bought your srt for around 20 or less. 15 grand could do a lot to an srt 4 if you know what i'm sayin
Agree with slow4dr. If you got the cash then i'd say a cobra hands down, even if you get big turbo + all supporting mods, a lightly modded cobra will rape you. But most stick with the srt because its *cheap* and fast.
