So I heard there are 15+ owners near N San Diego/Temecula/L Elsinore/I.E, but you guys are unsociable. I want to try to start a central meet. I was thinking the Red Robin off of the Winchester exit (I15, exit 61). Post up if you can make it. Hopefully we can get something started in the area and make it a weekly thing. I have only been in the area for a few weeks, so if you have a better location let me know. Also, if you have a better day in mind that more people can attend, post up.
When: Friday 5 Oct, 2012 7:30pm- we're done. Where: Red Robin 40820 Winchester Road Temecula, CA 92591

If you are willing to make the occasional drive from Chula Vista, Im willing to make the drive to Encinitas. I know that is crazy far for you.
What is Tuner & Tacos and where exactly is it?

Cool, soumds like a plan. We should be able to all get together soon. I wont be at the dch meet since I already requested the 19-21 off to hit up the track in pheonix, so had to work the 13th. But, im always down for local meets and get togethers. Hope this can be something successful, get some more heads out there. Too many evos and stis, never do you see a nice group of srt4's, at least not anymore. Lmk if tuner and tacos in encinitas would work out for you guys. My buddy went last week, and said it was a really good turn out. Lots of nice cars, pretty womem, nice enviornment.

I'm in Lake Elsinore, but I haven't been able to meet the other locals here. I saw a blue SRT-4 on the road going the opposite way as me, I have seen a yellow one that a girl drives around town, and I met one guy who has a silver one when I was at a bank. I am up to meet locally and then possibly a more distant meet once we can get a decent group together.

If you want to race a decent quarter-mile track, when Fontana is closed (and it isn't that great for regular street legal events anyway) the only options are Phoenix, Vegas, and Famoso (north of Bakersfield). Pomona can be one of the nicer tracks in SoCal but is seldom open other than NHRA events with public racing during those times maybe once or twice a year. Otherwise you can do eighth-mile at Irwindale (busy but good track), Barona Casino (south of Ramona), or Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego (if you like racing in a crappy parking lot).
Back to potential meets no mater where you try to put one together it's never going to be convenient for everyone. Historically a few years back there were a couple meets down in SD and a group of us used to do one in Escondido which was somewhat central to SD, Oceanside, and Temecula/Murrieta but even then only a handful of people made it out every week. There are quite a few SRT-4s around this area but not many of them are on the forums.

I agree, it is hard to get a large group of people to meet. Back when I had my 2003 SRT-4, it took a year to accumulate about 8 regulars. We stared traveling to out to the beach to meet with more people, and eventually all the way down in SD. Over time, people didn't want to travel to meet. They would wait until it was local for them in the rotation. Since SRT-4 neon's are out of production, it seems much harder to find a group. I am in to meet up next Friday. I called another guy that I met who has a Silver one, and he's confirmed that he will go as well.

Glad to hear there will be more than just me sitting there...lol
I agree, central meets are hard to do when people are so spread out. But I am willing to keep this up as long as people come out and attend. Like I said, if you guys have a better location in mind (central to the majority) let me know. SGH-T989 using AutoGuide.C

You have always tried to keep things going for the southern areas. Shawn, you missed out on a few big meets I had at my house. Had one with 75+ SRTs and another one with 40+ SRTs and a small one with 30+ SRTs show up

That's pretty big at one house. I had BBQs/parties at my house in FL that were pretty big, but never more than about 15 owners (and 20+ other friends). So when are you doing another one?

SGH-T989 using AutoGuide.C![]() I had shirts made up for 2 of those meets. Not gonna happen again. Those SRT days are long gone in socal.

Well hopefully we can bring back those days...there is no sense in letting this community go to waste. FL and CA were the two states that were delivered the most SRT-4s...Fl is still going strong with meets and the annual SRT-4 showdown in Orlando with 95+ owners showing up 3 years running; 115 set to show up to the 4th Showdown next month. No need to let a smaller state keep all the glory...
