Default Raced a Ferrari 355F1Spider and Brabus in Rancho Santa Fe

Me and a buddy of mine were riding around in Rancho Santa Fe (very rich place) and we saw a Ferrari 355 F1 Spider. We had the right of way and we pulled up to the curb and he passed VERY SLOWLY, then we got behind just to check out the car. We followed him for like 20 seconds through this twisty little area, and he guns it out of nowhere. I jump on it and I actually kept up very well. He obviously knew the road (his neighborhood, I'm guessing) because you'd see he was driving very confidently but I stayed on him the whole time. He was turning and I debated following him or not (I was hoping maybe he'd go down a more straight road so I could see if I could pull) but I couldn't tell whether or not he was turning into his house driveway or another street (trees all around, huge driveways) so I passed. Oh and by the way, the guy was about 60 and had a 20 year old girlfriend!

Then as I was leaving the area I saw one of those Mercedes Brabus things, I'm not sure at all what model. His license plate said "ABRABUS" and he had some racing stickers and such. There was alot of traffic for a few lights, but I got around some cars (not intending to race) but this kid was riding up my tail ready to race. I could have downshifted to my advantage, but stayed in 3rd and stepped on it. He flies back 9-10 car lengths, and stays that far back until the next stoplight where he turns off.

By the way this isn't a lie or exaggeration at all. I have no reason to lie about something like this. I am absolutely stunned that I saw and raced a Ferrari (as it is rare to even see one) but it did happen. I am going to go back tomorrow with the camera and record the sights and etc for my wife, but If I see anything tomorrow I'll upload a video.

I love my car

Thanks man. I really didn't beat the Ferrari (probably wouldn't have), it was a one lane road and I just kept up with him. I wish it was more... Maybe tomorrow!

If you ride through Rancho Santa Fe chances are you'd see one or at least see something like an Aston Martin or a Porsche or two. I saw plenty in the town area, but they were just cruising.

There was a red 355 here in Neb . with a older guy driving it...I have the same story..i was right on his ass...til85 or so then we both backed off.
he woulda destroyed me if we kept going. Sounds of the ferrari are sexy as hell...nothing sounds close to one...im glad i was Close to one.they are meant for high end speeds anyway. but still surprised me...I figured people would call the B.s> flag on me here in NEb.lol fun times in a 4banger...

Yeah, the sound was the most amazing part. The 355 is the best sounding Ferrari in my opinion. You could get a DOHC 3.4 with a Tubi to sound close, though.

And actually Ferraris are meant for both. They are great handling and in top speed, and I felt he had an advantage on me in many ways on the twisty road, yet I was behind him the whole way. I felt I wouldv'e done better on a straight.

Man, I hope I see this car tomorrow. I know basically where he lives near, so maybe I'll ride around there for a while and see if I see him. That way I'll have it on tape.

If I don't see it, it'll still be alright. It seemed like everyone in that area wanted to race (I won't get too carried away ;-)) so I should have something to show.
